Any old timers remember the name of this show?

I remember Shari Lewis and Lambchop, I think they remade it in the 80's because I remember watching it with my oldest when he was little.

I don't remember the other show so it could be a local show or one that was before my time.

I remember watching Shari Lewis when I was very young, around 5-6. I had a Lambchop puppet when I was a little girl. I'm 54 now, so that was almost 50 years ago~! I always loved SHari Lewis. :goodvibes My children watched her in the 80s-90s,when she was much more grandmotherly. She was a reallly gifted performer. When she died I actually cried out loud--it really took me by surprise, I didn't know it would hit me so hard.

Not in our house! We got our first color tv in 1973. Oh, we were probably the last people on earth to get one. We had to wait for that big console tv to finally break.

My grandmother got a color tv and we used to go over to her house every year to watch "Wizard of Oz." We didn't have a tv in my house until I was a senior in HS, when my mom bought a little 13" B&W so we could watch the Alabama vs. Auburn game( Roll Tide!)

DH and I didn't own a color TV until we had DS24. He brought it home one day as a surprise for me "so we'll have something to do when the baby comes."

Kim must have been an un popular name then too. I can remember waiting to hear my name and only once did she say it.

I had Romper Stompers too. Were they from the show?? They were inverted plasticcups that you stood on with ropes that you held up tight to hold them on. Kind of like little stilts for kids.

Does anyone remember Captain Kangaroo and Mr Green Jeans?

Oh how I waited for my name to be said through the Magic Mirror.:lovestruc

I remember Romper Stompers! And Captain Kangaroo.

Shari Lewis and Lambchop...I bought VHS tapes of her shows from the 80's for my kids. "This is the Song that Never Ends" and "Dont Wake Your Mom" were some of our favorite songs from her and Lambchop. Adorable and very soothing shows for the kids. She was a very talented woman.

Mr. Roger's Neighborhood was another childhood favorite of mine AND my kids. He did remarkable work in making all children feel wanted and accepted.

THANKS..... now I have THAT song going through my head.:scared1:
My kids grew up with "Lamb Chops Play Along" which was on from 1992 to 1997 on PBS.

I grew up with "The Shari Lewis Show" which was on from 1960 to 1963 on Saturday morning's on NBC.

As for Shari Lewis's red hair, what about America's favorite red head, Lucille Ball on "I Love Lucy". It ran from 1951 to 1957 in black and white, amazing I grew up with it given that it was canceled a month before I was born!!

Trivia fans, the first TV series broadcast in color, Bonanza in 1959 on NBC, but of course RCA owned and wanted to sell new color TV's.
ABC didn't start broadcasting in color until 1962. CBS waited until 1965.
We were the first on our block with a color TV, 1964, a Magnovox console that spend nearly as much time broken as working.

You are correct. NBC did a number of color specials, which is why I qualified my statement with "TV series".

According to The New York Times, "Television's first prime time network color series was The Marriage, a situation comedy broadcast live by NBC in the summer of 1954."
