Any official word on what day holiday stuff starts?

Has anyone heard when holiday decorations will start going up? We're planning on going the week before Thanksgiving, but I'd hate to be there and miss out on everything by a few days. I started reading the holiday thread, but not sure if anything official has been said yet. :santa:

If you mean when does the holiday season officially begin and everything is in full swing, we don't know yet. It's too early. We won't even get the official agenda of HalloweenTime activities/events until around mid-July. So I expect Christmas announcements won't come until August and September. We'll probably start to hear little bits of info leaked out in August, and then get the official holiday agenda in September. Most likely the date will be Friday, November 12th (since last year everything started on November 13th), but it could be November 19th. Last year the season "officially" began one week earlier than it had begun the previous year, so it started 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. There's no telling yet if DLR is going to do another early opening like that, or move it to where it had been in 2008 (which was one week before Thanksgiving).

As for when the decorations start going up in general, they slowly begin to go up immediately after the Halloween stuff comes down - so probably November 2 or so, the holiday transformation will begin.

Stay tuned to the "Disney at Christmas" super thread for updates (if you don't want to go through the whole thread and look at all the photos, you can just kind of jump in on the last few pages where any news would be more recent). That's where we are discussing all things pertaining to DLR at Christmastime, posting updates, asking questions, giving answers and posting photos until any info comes in!

Thanks for the info! Yeah, sorry, I know "stuff" wasn't very specific, lol, but yeah, I was wondering about the festivities and decorations. I'll keep an eye on the Christmas thread!

We were there the first week of Nov. last year. Nov. 1-6 and Halloween stuff started coming down on Nov. 2 and Christmas stuff started going up Nov. 2. It was fun to see the parks in transition. We came into the parks in the morning wondering what would be changed from the previous day.

I remember hearing about one crazy, surreal day where the Halloween stuff was still up (or at least, much of it was), but the Winter blanket of snow was already going on the Castle and various signs of decorations were beginning to pop up in New Orleans Square! That would have been odd to see - a true collision of holidays. I guess that with as detailed as the Christmastime decorations are, and the thorough transformation they have to do to all of DLR, they need to really get an early start on putting some things up to have it all ready by mid-November.
