Any OCTOBER guests received FP+ testing invite?

Lol. At least you all are getting emails about something! Haha! I have customized the bands and they are processing, but I haven't received an email about jack.... Even one inviting me to test in the first place! LOL. Waiting here on pins and needles for those bands!

Does the dining plan link to the MB's? I haven't purchased our DP yet but MB's arrived today. I'm guessing once I purchase it and it shows up on MDE that means it is "on" the band? "IN" the band?

I received the invite email about 1 week after we received our MagicBands. A couple of days later, we got a paper invite shipped via UPS.

Nothing is actually stored on the MagicBands except for a unique band ID number that is linked to your MDE profile. All data is stored on Disney's servers and access when your band is scanned.

Think like this..... The MagicBand is nothing more than a Pet ID Chip that a veterinarian implants into your cat or dog, when the vet scans the chip with their scanner it displays a number, not who the owner is, or what the dog's name is.

Then the vet needs to enter that number into the manufacturers database to find out who the pet belongs too.

Same thing with the MagicBand, when you scan it, it doesn't actually say your name or room number or ticket information It just tells the scanner "your number" and then that number is referenced in the MyDisneyExperience Database where all the name/room/tickets/dinning plan information is stored.

Thats why we can reuse these magic bands over and over and over, the chip doesn't change, the information in the database back at DisneyWorld changes.

So yeah, you can add your dining plan and you won't need to be resent new magicbands.

So do we scan at the restaurant before or after we eat if we are on the dining plan? I understand how everything form our MDE is linked onto the band but still a little curious about DDP and how they will utilize the magicbands to access DDP info..

I've never done table service on a DDP, only quick service and from everything I've read it works just like you swiped your Key To The World Card. So at the time of purchase you just raise your band to a reader by the register.

I imagine at a table service there is a "mobile reader" that the waitstaff brings when its time bring the check. Unless you take the band off and let them take it to a central register.

We all need to come back to this thread after our trips and report on our experiences with the Magic Bands and FP+.

Same here....no emails....no letters...if it wasn't for Dis, I never would have known about magicbands or customizing....thanks Dis posters! :goodvibes

I did get my Mickey mail today and luggage tags!!!!! Yay!!!!!

Congrats!! Thought we might get ours today since nothing yesterday, but still nothing :( ours must be coming pony express!?! LOL! I guess that's ok as long as its Bullseye delivering it ;)

Woot Woot, lots of us getting MM this week that are checking in around the 19th.

I have been following the September FP+ thread and many of those reservations now have access through the end of September. I thought we could create a thread for an October watch.

We are staying Oct2-8 at POR (package) and Oct 1 at POP (room only). So far MDE does not let me make any FP+ choices.

Any other October reservations have FP+ access?

We have reservations at POR 10/13 -10/19 and at Pop 10/19 - 10/20. Our MB for POR arrived a few days ago and the ones for Pop are supposed to ship in a couple more days. I was able to make our FP+ choices a few weeks ago, so those are all set. It's funny though, our first set of customized (colors) MB's were delivered UPS next day air last Friday but today we got a UPS 2nd day air envelope with the official invitation to participate in the testing for our POR stay and it states we have until 10/3 to customize our MB's, lol.:mickeyjum
