Any non-Disney resorts with reliable ECV transportation to the parks?

I generally end up staying at a WDW resort because of the transportation options for my rental ECV. The only times I've stayed off property and rented an ECV we had a car and I rented a portable model.

Just curious if anyone has found a hotel off-site with reliable wc/ECV transport?

I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn and the Hilton in Disney Springs and found their bus service good. Regular schedule, helpful drivers and free.

Do they have a wheelchair ramp? I’m just curious because so many of the hotels we’ve stayed at (not at Disney) my husband had to lift my ECV onto the bus. (It breaks down). I know have a folding wheelchair which will make it slightly easier, but it works best if there’s a ramp or a lift.

This might be tough. Back in 2018 there were some offsite resorts who would handle this with special reservations. You would have to make arrangements ahead of time for this type of service. Residence Inn Lake Buena Vista was one such place. Now, it may not be available. This may take calling offsite resorts directly and asking them about their current policy.

I believe the Disney Spring resorts may accommodate you, but again you would need to check under current times if this will be available right now.

You can always do Uber or equivalent but I believe you will have to call special for it; because, all the vehicles won't be suited for a scooter.

If you're willing to use a folded wheelchair and then rent a scooter at the Disney parks then that might be the easiest option. They will hold your wheelchair at the park. This wouldn't require any special reservations for the shuttles, etc.

Honestly, right now I would go with a Disney resort.

Some offsite resorts had suspended their park transportation after the re-opening. For a trip in the near future you’ll definitely want to confirm. However, generally speaking if a resort offers free transportation to the parks they must provide accessible transportation. If the usual shuttles are not accessible, it may mean they call an accessible taxi.

The Swan/Dolphin no longer use WDW buses, and my understanding is the Mears buses they use have been accessible.

The buses that Disney Sprints hotels share(d) prior to Covid were/are accessible. I do t know if they are running. A call to the Hilton or Holiday Inn directly could probably be made to understand current status.

Ok, so question about the Disney Springs hotels...

Where do their buses park? For example, at AK, HS and EPCOT, are they waaaaaay out on the blacktop, or in some weird spot? And where are they boarded at MK?

That's one of the best reasons (IMHO) to use a Disney Resort over any other place that offers bus service, because you have that dedicated "spot" for the buses to/from your Resort. It may not always be the fastest, but I know what I'm getting, and exactly where to find it LOL

For the MK, they stop(ped) at the TTC at a specific bay.. At AK and EP, they stopped in dedicated locations as well. Obviously, the TTC isn’t as convenient at the Disney resort loop at the MK itself. For my purposes, that has never really been an issue.
