So... I haven't been to the parks for about 2 years now (my last trip was when Car's Land opened) and I'll be making a trip this Christmas ( :woohoo: :cool1:  ) and I just wanted to know if there are any new things that I should not forget to check out?

I saw on a YouTube video that Big Thunder Mountain got a bit of an update... as did Alice. So I'll definitely be checking those 2 out. Did any other rides get an update?

Any new shows? New foods, snacks, etc? It seems like a lot of the restaurants have gotten new items too, but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks! :goodvibes

The Princess Fantasy Fair has moved to what used to be called the Carnation Plaza Gardens. It is a very nicely themed area. There are also two cute shows that play on the stage there throughout the day. One tells the story of Beauty and the Beast and the other Tangled. The cast of actors is small but good, the jokes are fun for both kids and adults, and there is some music and singing.

In the Princess Fantasy Fair's old spot is Mickey and the Magical Map, a highly energetic stage show with lots of music and dancing and Mickey Mouse.

Yes, menus have been updated in a number of locations. Check out this page to look for menus: http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/dining.htm

I think that "Mickey and the Magical Map" might have debuted in early 2013. It's cute and seems fairly popular.

Oops, sorry longtimedisneylurker, I just realized you already noted that.

As longtimedisneylurker said, several of the menus have received updates. There are also several new souvenir items (e.g., new popcorn buckets) scattered throughout the parks.

Depending when you last went in 2012, the Matterhorn Bobsleds received a refurb that introduced new ride vehicles. The basic ride is still the same.

There are also a couple of new meet and greets (e.g., Thor and Captain America over in Innoventions).

Here's my list of new/updated things I want to see since my trip in August 2012:

- Mickey and the Magical Map (new)
- Alice in Wonderland (updated)
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (updated)
- Fantasy Faire (especially the Tangled and Beauty and the Beast shows) (new)
- Little Mermaid - Ariel's Undersea Adventure (updated with new lighting, effects, etc.)
- Thor/Captain America/Iron Man in Innoventions (new)
