Can anyone recommend an off-site hotel, preferably a suite-type with microwave and frig, that is fairly new? Thanks in advance!

The Hilton Grand Vacations Club (HGVC) at 8122 Arrezzo Way is a wonderful and almost new suite-hotel/resort (this is the Hilton Grand Vacations Club off the intersection of I-4 and 535, not the one near Sea World which is older though is probably good, too). My family and I stayed at the HGVC on Arrezzo Way in Feb 2005, shortly after it had opened (there are also newer buildings that have opened since then).

It is very close to Disney World, and there is a new Publix and a new 24 hour Walgreen pharmacy right across the street (and also a UPS store in case you need to ship anything back home).

I highly recommend this hotel. Some buildings are new (2006) and some are almost new (2004-2005). It is very clean, the pool is great, the rooms are well desgined and decorated and most include a full kitchen. I was also very happy with the hotel service, they really took care of us. Rates vary widely. Sometimes you can get a one-bedroom suite for $90 a night, but it ranges depending on dates from $90-$200 per night. Go to the Hilton web site and search for the hotel for details and to see if you can get a reasonable rate.

It's also rated the #2 hotel in Orlando by users of tripadvisor.com.

We have booked our July stay at Worldquest which really looks very nice. I haven't seen reviews on the Dis yet but a few reviews at tripadvisor are very good. You can check out their website here: http://www.worldquestorlando.com/ I really like the idea of providing a continental breakfast and evening snacks.

We also just booked the brand new Worldquest. It is supposedly less than a mile from Disney gates. They have 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom suites, each with a full kitchen, living and dining area. Excellent reviews on various travel boards. I got the 2 bedroom for $118 on Expedia. Its also on AAA, but at the same Expedia rate. Also, if you are doing searches, some sites list it as "World Quest" rather than "Worldquest".

I don't know if I would call it "much" further than a mile. Using google earth, I can see that there are only a couple of resorts outside WDW closer to Epcot than World Quest and it is definitely closer to Epcot & MGM than the AKL is.

Horizons by Marriot is still kinda new (5 years or so?). We absolutely LOVED it! It was a theme park itself! I didn't feel like we were missing out on Disney the days we didn't go to any of the parks.

Wow! This place looks amazing! I have just spent 10 mins reading the trip advisor reviews, and every single one of them so far has been 5 stars! I think I will have to cancel my first ever onsite stay for Dec, and book this place instead!
