Wondering what incentives are going on right now? Maybe thinking of adding on :rolleyes1 (again).

I was finally going to check out the Castle to Castle offer and now it's gone.

They are giving incentive dollars to reduce the price per point and doubling your points for the first year.

Can you clarify what you mean by doubling the first year points? Is it really that or are you simply getting current UY points as well.

Sometimes, DVC phrases things in a way to make you think you are getting an extra set of points when in fact, all they are doing is giving you current UY points.

I own June UY points and if I added on today, since I am still in my 2009 UY, I should get 2009 points, and then a new set come June 1st. Are you saying they would be giving me a double set of 2009 points? If that is the case, I might just have to give my guide a call!

When I spoke to my guide a few days ago she stated that they weren't going to have any new incentives until after their meeting in March but she did mention $15 off for current pricing, that has been a constant incentive for a while now.

She only said March but I hope it is early then if it's a good incentive I can buy sooner.:rotfl: It would be nice if the incentive is better than the current add-on incentive of $15 less a point, of course that price isn't even for all of DVC add-ons.

We just added on 50 points today and this is what our guide offered. We got OKW at $101/pt with 2009 UY points and the ability to bank those points. We were also given the extended contract for OKW. DH and I are at odds as to whether it is for just the new points or the entire contract .Will call guide tomorrow to end dispute. We were really surprised they allowed us to purchase OKW but when he offered we jumped.:cool1:

Now I am confused. We checked with our guide for incentives for add on points. We were told only BLT and AK was available for sale. How did you get SSR and OKW add on points? Did you get the incentives by buying resale? If yes, was this resale through the Timeshare store? Thanks Kathy

You can add on any of the resorts through Disney. Not sure why your guide told you differently.

The price for SSR and OKW are certainly cheaper via resale, but for smaller contracts, much easier through Disney and the price difference becomes less of an issue.

I would contact him/her again.

No this was direct from Disney. We did not even ask if they were available. We assumed that AK and BLT were the only ones available in Florida but were offered SSR as well as OKW. Our guide said they were the best deals available at the present time.We came home and thought about it for 2 weeks and made the decision. We visited the DVC center while in WDW 2 weeks ago and just asked about the available incentatives for small add ons.I am not sure if it was because we were onsite at the time but we jumped on OKW. Whatever the reason we were pleasantly surprised when the points arrived in our account today. You might want to call your guide and ask. If you want our guide's name PM me and I will send it to you.

As was mentioned you can purchase points at any existing resort direct from DVC. In some cases since DVC won't sell a different UY unless you buy 160+ points you might have to wait until points in your UY are available.

The other thing about buying at the older resorts is that DVC does not offer any incentives or discounts which is why it is often better to purchase resale for those resorts.

We purchased at OKW with a discount on the price per point two days ago. That was only a 50 point add on. If we had purchased at least 100 points we could have gotten them for $92/pt.

we just got akv 100 plus the 100 2009uy points. 1500 off the top, i think it was $15 off a point. i am seeing some posts were there paying less than that. wonder if you can haggle?

Actually, DVC doesn't price the "sold out" resorts the same as existing and the price you received of $101 is the going rate the last I heard. If you had gotten the $92/pt yours would be pretty much the first time I've heard of anyone getting a discount on the older resorts other than some special promo they were doing. The previous promos seemd to apply only to VB and HHI. I do remember one other report during a huge promotion for BLT that someone got a discount on either BWV or BCV.

Perhaps with all the ROFR's they've been doing at lower prices they've decided then can offer some discounts now but I've also got a feeling it's going to depend on how far a person's guide is willing to go for them.

I did confirm the $80 per point HHI today. Very tempting! 09 Points and no closing costs.
