To anyone who has already gone to DLR in the last few days to see the Halloweentime decorations - are there any NEW things to look for? I have heard that the floral Mickey at the entrance to DL has NOT been transformed to a Halloween theme this year, which disappoints me. So has anyone noticed anything new and improved in terms of the Halloween touches around the parks, or has anything else been removed that was there in previous years? Feel free to post photos too! Thanks!

Oh, good question. Can't wait to hear replies. We won't be there for another week.

I can't wait either. This is kind of a spin-off thread of the Haunted Mansion Holiday thread, in which Seewhatimesdone reported back on the subtle changes in the ride this year. It got me thinking about what might be new in terms of Halloween decorations at DLR, because it seems like DLR is making a bigger deal about it over time. So Perlster posted with news that apparently the floral Halloween Mickey at the entrance to DLR was not done this year, and that really shocked me. That was one of the important Halloween touches to the park, and I can't believe they didn't do it again! So I am dying to know what else is new or no longer there!

There will be no Golden Screams shows this year.

I didn't see Golden Screams last year, but I've heard of it. What exactly was it again? It was in DCA, right? Was this the 'scream-off' competition with the villains or was that something else?

In the Haunted Mansion Holiday thread, Seewhatimesdone said that the Tower of Terror was NOT done up for Halloween just two days ago - which is when the official Halloweentime stuff went up in DLR. And yet, on the Disney website, their Halloweentime page specifically mentions the Tower of Terror having Halloween theming or touches this year. It would make no sense not to have put them up yet. I wonder if they are skimping on the Halloween stuff in ToT due to budgetary issues. Maybe they just stuck up a spider web somewhere and decided that was the Halloween decoration?

i didnt notice anything halloween last year on it.... nothin special atleast

I was there on Friday. I was disappointed that the ToT wasn't decorated - I especially missed the decaying Halloween party decorations in the lobby.

Other than the Tower of Terror and Golden Screams I didn't notice anything else that was "missing" from previous years...but I didn't notice anything new, either. Maybe a few more decorations over in Woody's Roundup area.

It's still a lot of fun, though - very festive!

This year CandyCorn Acres in DCA is in the Hub (by the sun fountain). The last few years it was back in Bountiful Valley, as I recall. It was very cute and well done.

But, I'll admit, I was sad not to see the candy 'corn' also growing in bountiful valley farm. (well, there is some there, but not a large display as has been in years past)

Perhaps they are still in the process of decorating, because it technically isn't halloween season until it is October and we are still in September !

i hope they get those decrations up i was looking forward to seeing alot of things and now they are all gona be missing what the heck. disney better get on the ball

Goofy's Candy Corn Acres has only been in Sunshine Plaza - it was new last year.

I am very surprised about the lack of decorations or Halloween touches on ToT, because that is one of the things that is advertised on DL's Halloweentime page on the website! I don't ride ToT anyway, but I can't believe they advertised it as being one of the Halloween attractions and then didn't do anything to it! That is weird - unless they are planning to add something to it closer to Halloween! I am baffled - first, no floral Halloween Mickey at the entrance to DL, and now no ToT decorations!

not right[/QUOTE

Not right at all, Jade. I can only guess that maybe Disney IS cutting back on a few decorations here anf there because their overall attendance numbers have been down this year and maybe they felt it wasn't worth the extra expense. I know they said they didn't do the floral Halloween Mickey because of the lighting, but that seems like a weak excuse!

But you guys will still have a great time next week, Jade, and I will have a great time in a couple of days! Even though they seem to be skimping in a few ways, it is still Disneyland and it is still Halloweentime!!! It will be GREAT!
