If you think about it, new fantasyland and the hub getting larger was the only thing happening at one point so 1 could say the rest was ignored until now.
It was mentioned on oct 1 during the 45th ceremony that there is more coming that isn't announced yet and they aren't ready to say what it is yet.. execs were spotted I think last year, including john lasseter walking around tomorrowland with blueprints. similar thing happened in HS back in 2014 so I think it might be an indication they are at least seriously looking at tomorrowland for some big changes. There is road work going on that the permits say extension but if you look at the plans it's reworking a road to be more west of MK which I'm hoping means a new land coming over there.
Also epcot had some plans where the money got shifted to bring in frozen faster when it started to kick off record visitors. I took away from the HS announcements that the whole place is going to be reimagined and no longer about being backstage so there is some areas that probably have a phase 2 and 3 and we don't know are coming yet to achieve that goal. also star tours not inside star wars land doens't make much sense to me and they already turned the area between them into muppets plaza so that has to move or change into something else as some point. I think we're going to see big echo lake area changes after all the other construction completes.
Big changes are coming, many unannounced at this point so I think we might get some news at destination d and if not next year at
d23. they would have to start construction in a way they can't hide it in the next year to finish it at the speed that disney does construction these days..
This is also not taking into consideration that universal has decided to make it sound larger with a new waterpark they are calling a third park and enough land to open something completely new so disney might be ramping up to really pump out a 5th park in addition to everything else..
It's an exciting time in theme park land...
