Any NC DVCers have 2012 trip plans to Aulani?

We hope to be able to book Aulani at the 7 month window. I am trying to get an early start on beginning to research airline tickets from Raleigh or Charlotte to Hawaii. Any tips on how to get the lowest fare? How often should I look? What days are best to travel to get cheapest tickets? Any assistance in this department that you can provide would be appreciated.

Waiting to see if my resale contract passes ROFR. Been 2 weeks (I know it can take up to 30 days, but I keep reading where others make it through in 2-3 week--pixie dust please )

Aulani is where I would like to plan for 2012! I'm just concerned about booking at 7 months. With no history of bookings, it is hard to get my hopes up--as there may be little available at 7 months.

Airfare looks like about $1000 pp The long flights concern me, too. After aboout 2 hours on a plane, I start to get figgety (sp?). If we could get reservations, my DGD would be traveling with us and I am not sure how well a 2 year old would travel that far.

I've just started to look at travel info for Hawaii--have never been before, so any info others can share about finding "good" fares, best times to travel,etc I would appreciate, too.
