Any more Tiffins info?

It has been about 2 months since the official announcement of Tiffins at AK. It has also been about 2 months since any information on Tiffins has been released.

Has anyone heard anything new lately?

We have an AK day planned for early May and are currently holding on to a pre-opening TH and an early lunch at Y&Y, one of which will be cancelled depending on the status of Tiffins (if Tiffins is open, we will keep the TH and if it won't be open we will keep the Y&Y). Anyone else unsure of how to plan meals for AK because of Tiffins and/or RoL?

Has anyone heard anything new lately?

1) Restaurant Manager appointed and transferred.
2) Cooks and chefs have been interviewed, with some being hired.
3) SERVERS and SEATERS are being interviewed.
4) All personnel are appointed by managers, without seniority as a factor (most Start Teams are done like this).
5) Still looking got "Spring" . . . our non-official guess is mid-to-late March.
6) Will be tied to new Rivers of Light, new Tree of Life, and new Nighttime Safari.

NOTE1: Auditions for Rivers of Light are now being held. They have really different requirements. Most characters and performers are slight-of-build. For Rivers, they are demanding: Females minimum 5'8" tall, and males minimum 6'0' tall. (Although we "think" we know why, we don't discuss it.)

NOTE2: I have attended "Tastings" for the last four new restaurants and hope to be invited to this tasting. Will post something if-and-when we go.

Rumor (and it is strictly rumor) is that ROL, the night time safari, and Tiffins will open on Earth Day, which is April 22. But typically, restaurants will have a period of soft openings to start with, before they begin accepting ADR bookings. So if this proves to be true (and its a big IF), you wouldn't be able to make ADRs till late April.

2) Unfortunately, none of our sources do we claim as reputable.
3) We will just wait-and-see.

When you say Tiffins "will be tied to RoL" are you saying that there will be a dinner package available like Fantasmic dinner package? I am so hoping for that!!!

So, in other words, no real new news yet. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the tasting Rusty, provided you get invited. I was hoping you'd chime in since you always seem to have your finger on the pulse of the WDW food universe.

We would also love to see that. Our scheduled AK day is May 1, which wouldn't give too much time for the bugs to be worked out to allow a dinner package (I assume) if Earth Day ends up being realistic, but the rumors (or hope) seem to be that RoL will have dinner packages like F!. I guess we will have to continue to play the wait and see game. Wait and see if Tiffins is open yet, wait and see if RoL has started yet and what time(s) the show(s) are, wait and see if the nighttime safari is ready.... wait and see.

I would assume "tied to ROL" just means they want to try to have everything opened around the same time period. But YMMV
