I've been a lurker and made a few posts - everyone's ideas/pictures, PJs and TRs are great!. I was just wondering if there are any other MOBs that are following everying also....my DD is getting married 1/4/08 at WP/GF/Italy DP....:yay:

Congratulations to your DD on her upcoming wedding!

I know there is one lady here who's DD was also married at WDW. But I think you are the only two!

I'm glad you are enjoying reading all the planning journals and trip reports...are they giving you and your DD ideas?

Welcome to the board!

We have had a few MOB's pass though here, but they don't seem to post too often. I'm glad you are enjoying reading the board. I hope its giving you and your DD lots of ideas.

I hope you stick around and post more, it would be great to have a Mom's POV :)

I am also a MOB of a Disney bride. I read the DISboards all the time and they have been very helpful, especially in out early planning stages. My DD's wedding is Oct. 31, 2007(yes, Halloween) at SBP. Then we all head off to MNSSHP that evening!
Thanks everyone for your great ideas.

Hi I am also a MOB my DD is planning her disney wedding hopefully on 2-14-09I love the boards, we have gotten tons of ideas for her wedding

Thanks to you all for the response.....yes, we've gotten lots of great ideas from the other brides here....DD is not a follower of DISboards but I have been able to keep her informed of all the "good, bad and the ugly" if you will for all the vendors, etc.

As for my point of view, we started going to WDW when she was about 12 and about 1 to 2 times per year ever since. We always joked about her getting married at WDW and when the opportnity actually came around, she didn't ask about it ( I think she was concerned about the cost). When we couldn't find anywhere in Birmingham or Auburn, AL (that is where she went to school and where she still lives), I asked her if she didn't want to have A DTFW....of course she said yes :cool1: . As a matter of fact, she and her DF got engaged in front of the castle last December when we went for a quick trip (DD, DF, FOB and me).

Anyway, since she is my only daughter (she has two brothers), and she and her father wanted her to have the wedding that we did not.... we were all on board and are very excited and proud to be able to give she and her DF this gift.

Are you guys interested in pics of her dress and stuff?:flower3:

Yes! Please post! We all love pictures, hey, maybe you can start a new trend!! =) MOB's rock. . . How I wish my mom was that supportive.

Pictures are great. A lotta posting, less typing :yay:

Yes Wise please post everything. Amanda is also our only daughter, We have one son. She has her planning journal posted under Amanda and Erics planning journal if you would like to take a look. She always wanted a disney wedding, so when we told her yes, she was very excited. (My DH always says its my wedding not hers, HAHA!) We had a beautiful wedding but this is going to be one no one will ever forget!!!!! :goodvibes

Hey Guys...sorry for the delay - but I'm still trying to figure out how to put a link in to pics...I think I have it ....we'll see.

These are some pics of DD at her first dress fitting and also some of her accessories like tiara, ring bearer pillow, etc.

MeeshKapeesh - as I know you seen elsewhere on DISboards....either you love Disney or you don't and sometimes our closest family members - the ones we think would be excited for us no matter what, can give us a little shock when they don't see eye to eye with wishes for a Disney wedding....I know that you and your DF will be happy with your decision and whoever decides to get in the Disney "mood" will find themselves a part of a magical event/ once in a lifetime event....:wizard:

momofbride/caniacdeb - do your DD and DF live close by? That has been the hardest part for us - to get everything coordinated while living in two separate areas.... I think that DD and DF have pretty much gotten everything taken care of now - waiting for the invitations to come in and final dress fittings.....also the budget will have to be cut a little bit as they went a little over and we have not gotten the floral estimate yet....

caniacdeb - the day is drawing near - sounds like it will be a blast...

Wise- Your DD's dress is beautiful! I love her garters too. My DD and her fiance are very young she will be 20 in Feb. and he will be 20 in a couple weeks, so she is still living at home and he lives with his parents as well. They have been together since their freshman year in high school. But they will be 21 when they are married.

I was also MOB to a Disney Bride. DD MelMel was married 12/6/05 at Sunset Point. We spent many hours together on this site & found it far more helpful than FTW in providing useful information. There are many options that your WP won't tell you about that the wonderful Disney Brides were willing to share.
Happy planning,
Eve

Congrats! I'm not a MOB, but I am a matron of honor. My SIL works on the puter all day at work and will read a post if I send her the link, but doesn't really make it online too often at home. But I'm a regular reader and pass along info to her too. I'm always telling her about who's doing what and any ideas I find.

Your daughter's dress is gorgeous! She looks radient in it.

Wiserabbit -

My DD and DF live in the Orlando area and we are in NC. It has been a challenge at times but I think we are about ready to go . Let's just hope it all falls together on the big day!

A Disney MOG checking in! My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary with a vow renewal in 2005. The whole family had such a great time that, when DS and fiancee started their wedding plans, they knew it had to be Disney! DH and I had a hard time deciding between DL and WDW but went with Florida. We had about 40 guests and were able to accomodate everyone with our DVC points. Most of the family had never been to WDW so it was a wonderful vacation as well.

DS and FDIL are having a much larger event ( 200 + ) and they have decided to have their wedding at DL! We live in CA as do most of the guests, so travel won't be an issue. Our family and FDIL's are frequent visitors to DL (even though we live in northern CA)...our favorite vacation spot over the years. In fact , it is where DS proposed! They are having a great time getting started with the planning.

Ladies, I am a frequent lurker on this board. I love reading all about your plans and seeing the beautiful pics. I wish nothing but happiness to all of you! Your stories also serve as lovely reminders of the wonderful times we had and what we have to look forward to in the future with the upcoming wedding.

Mary

Oh sorcerer, your pictures are just amazing!!!!! I told my DH I wanted to go to Italy for our 25th in 4 years, now I see your pictures I'm thinking Vow Renewal at the World. Just because my DD is having her wedding there shouldn't matter right I'm entitled too!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Very excited to see a thread featuring MOB's. My own precious girl is pretty set on a DFTW April/May 2009. With 100+ guests! Yikes! So we are having a preliminary meeting with the Disney wedding people next month to get a real idea of the cost, before she absolutely has her heart set on it. Since we live in an area where the AVERAGE wedding is $40,000, I figured an average Disney wedding wouldn't be much more. We'll see. I'm actually more concerned about asking everyone to travel, since they will all be coming from significant distances. I hope we can get everyone on board and excited about this. Let's compare notes after our planning sessions; I'm sure we can share alot of helpful information that way. Good Luck to all of us!:tinker:
