Any Mio water flavor fans here?

I think the constant flood of new products in the supermarkets each
year is insane. Most are just variations of existing products or new
processed foods and convenience items for the pathologically lazy.

But every once in a while, something comes along that is truly
different or a vast improvement over an existing product. I think Mio
water enhancer is one of those products.

For several years there have been those little powder packets from Crystal
Light and others to pour in water bottles. The problem with that is we
don't buy bottled water. We drink tap water and those packets are
designed for a set volume of water. If you aren't having 16oz. the
packets are a waste. So along came Mio. Mio is a liquid sugar-free
flavoring for water or other drinks. The great thing is you can use as
little or as much as you want. If I'm just having a small glass of
water, I can add a little. If I'm having a big glass, I can add a lot. And I can make it as strong or as weak as I'd like. Plus, being a liquid, it mixes easily into other drinks. For example, I've found that I really like adding a squirt of Berry-Pomegrante flavor to diet Coke. Peach Tea is good in diet Coke, too.

The bottles sell for $3.99 which seems expensive at first but they go a long way and I think actually work out cheaper than the powdered packets, plus they're more versatile.

So who else loves this stuff?

I think Kathy from the podcast team is a fan of this. My 15 year old really likes it. I haven't ever tried it. Maybe I should give it a whirl.

It's really good. I don't care for the Sweet Tea flavor but then again I don't like Sweet Tea. And the Berry Pomegrante flavor isn't so great in just water but I really like it in the Coke. My daughter likes the Strawberry Watermelon. I haven't tried that but I can't stand watermelon.

Peach mango is good in a diet coke, as well!! Strawberry watermelon tastes like plastic to me... :confused3

Berry Pomegrante and Strawberry Watermelon are my favorite. I haven't tried it in my Diet Pepsi. I agree if you don't want a whole bottle of water Mio is great.

I wish someone would have them on sale.

Give it a try. You don't need much. Just a little squirt. Not as much as if you were using water since the soda is already flavored and sweetened.

I haven't seen any sales either and only saw a coupon when it first came out.

I like the peach mango and berry as well. I like to add just a small squirt to my water - just to give it a little taste. I agree with Kathy, wish it would go on sale or at least a coupon.

Kroger has a coupon that can be loaded to you Plus card. Maybe other stores have it also? I loaded it to mine to try it since I sometimes would like a flavor instead of just plain water.

I never thought to add it to my diet coke or pepsi. I will have to try it out.

I like the strawberry-watermelon and sweet tea. Havent tried it in soda, sounds like a good idea. I find them way more convenient than the powder packets.

My husband and son love them! Strawberry Watermelon is my son's favorite, Berry-Pomegranite my husband's and they both like fruit punch.

I'm loving all the berry flavored ones - I'm drinking a lot more water now that it tastes more interesting, and I keep rotating the flavors I use to keep it fresh. These are much more convenient than the powder packets when you want to adjust the amount you use (or have varying amounts of water to mix), and I find that they don't stain plastic straws (the permanent ones that come with some glass/lid combos) as much as my Crystal Light powder mixes do. (Maybe they leave less residue than a powder?) :)

Add me to the Mio fanbase. I work in a hospital so icewater is readily available but I just don't like plain water. I keep the little bottle in the pocket of my scrubs and add some to a cup of water several times a shift. So handy:thumbsup2!

I'm not gushing over it, but it is a nice little product. (They are a little astringent, but that's primarily due to the artificial sweeteners.) Anyway, what we like about it is that it is shelf-stable, small, and the kids are clamoring for it - which makes it a great way to get them to drink more water. And we are going through the flavors now, to determine which ones will be packed for the next Disney trip - much cheaper than soda, and better for you too!

Exactly. At first, my frugal brain thought it seemed expensive but it depends what you are comparing it to. At WDW, if you can get free ice water and squirt in some Mio for flavor rather than getting a soda for $2.50 or more each time, that $3.99 for a bottle of Mio that will flavor about 18-20 glasses of water seems like a tremendous bargain.

...I love the strawberry/watermelon flavor....:thumbsup2 I also like the fact that you can put as much or as little as you want into your bottle of water...

My DS-age 8-LOVES it. I can't really complain because he is drinking much more water.

Because of this thread (and Kathy) I bought the Peach Tea version today.

Since this morning, we have gone back to the store and bought one of each flavor.

As I've said many times, I am a Diet Peach Snapple addict.

I feel guilty that it runs $5.99 a six pack. I feel guilty that I am contributing this much packaging to the landfill / recycling and I don't really want to consume that much caffeine.

So far, I'm hooked.

Sugar Free
Calorie Free
Caffeine Free
Portable
Easy to use with different amounts of liquid.

I'm loving it.

I just hope that down the road, this isn't an "Erin Brockovich" moment where I'm going to end up with six elbows from drinking something toxic.:scared1:

Well, if you end up with six elbows, you'll be in good company! :rotfl2:

Glad you like it, Kevin.

The Mio bottles are recyclable by the way. I just cut off the plastic wrap because I don't know if that's recyclable. I hadn't thought about the greatly decreased packaging from using Mio vs. alternatives but that's a good point. One little plastic thing instead of a couple dozen bottles. Definitely cheaper than buying Snapple.

As for the six elbows, I'm sure that could come in handy somehow.
