Any Maryland DISers belong to SECU (credit union)?

I'm fed up with Wells Fargo already - I complained before about how early they take payments for online bill pay - now they paid my water bill late. I was going to request they pay the late charge, but the county reversed it for me when I called and asked about it. Apparently, they only mail paper checks for that payment and it didn't make it on time, even though they took it out of my account 5 business days ahead of time.

So that, coupled with the debit fee card stuff they are doing in other states just aggravates me. I miss Wachovia.

Anyhow ... thinking about switching to SECU. Everything on their website looks good - and we have a branch right next to my DH's work - not far from our house. Anything I should watch out for? Complaints? Compliments?

I'm a member and have been for many years. The only problem with SECU is that they never have enough tellers when you go in. It doesn't matter which branch I use it's always the same. The branch near me(Rossville Blvd.) only has 2 in the mornings, one at the window and one for inside. I always have a long wait when I go there.

Thanks to both of you.

I'm not too worried about tellers - I think we step into the bank branch about one time a year! I have direct deposit for our paychecks and rarely even use the ATM anymore, just our debit cards.

It looks like they have a "check" card - which I assume is the same as a debit card.

If anyone else has an opinion, please let me know - I know I won't get around to switching for a few weeks - changing banks is such a pain!
