Has anyone ever had something special or magical happen to them at WDW?

Last summer my 9year old DD lost her purse at MK while watching the parade in the afternoon. She didn't realize it was missing until 1 hour later. We quickly went to guest relations to see if it was in lost and found but was sad to hear it was not found. The CM just said " I'm sure it will be turned in. You know this is a magical place". At the end of the day, we returned to Guest relations and gave the description to the CM. She winked at DH and said let me see what I can do. She soon returned carrying my DD's purse and made a huge smile appear on my DD's face. To our surprise nothing was missing(she had close to $50.00, a necklace she bought for her best friend and other odds and ends).

I just want to say thank you Disney for bringing out the best in people and for making WDW a truly magical place!

Thats nice! :D

We have had lots of magical moments, but one was similar to your story.
On the last day of our trip we moved from ASMO to the Poly. I hadnt been wearing my good jewelry to the parks, but knowing our room wouldnt be ready so early, I did wear my gold/diamond bracelet that day. Somewhere between Splash Mt(our last ride of the morning) and our room at the Poly, I lost the bracelet. This was already a replacement of a sentimental one I had lost, so I was very upset. We called lost and found with no luck. We tried again the following morning before we left WDW, but still nothing. I figured it was hopeless by then, but we still gave a detailed description and our personal info just in case. We were home for less than a week when we received a package from the Poly in the mail. It was my bracelet! I dont know who was responsible for returning it, but someone added some magic to my life.

Oh my goodness CamColt, I can't believe that you had a diamond bracelet returned to you. I know Disney is magical I just didn't realize how magical. That is amazing!

Aspiring Cindy, I'll bet your daughter was thrilled to get her purse back complete with her spending mondy.

My magical experience is very similar, too. :)

DH and I honeymooned at WDW in 2000. We got married on a Friday, flew to WDW on Saturday, and had our first park day on Sunday. Splash Mountain was the second ride we rode that day...and DH lost his wedding ring! We got wet, DH shook his hands, and his ring flew off into the water. I cried for the rest of the ride and I cried all the way to City Hall (that's where we had to report the lost ring). Amazingly, after lunch, I calmed down and we went about the day. Before leaving the park, we stopped at City Hall, but they hadn't found the ring. They said if they find it that night, they'd call us the next day. We were told different things by differnt CMs...some said the water was dranined every night, some said twice a year, some said once a week, some said if the ring was heavy it would sink and they could find it. DH's ring is platinum, so we were hoping it would sink since we knew exactly where it came off. We went to MGM the next day, returned to our room at the GF...no messages. I called the central lost and found at TTC (which they had told us to do) and they didn't have anything. So, DH decided to call City Hall again...they said they had something that matched our discription of the ring! We jumped on the monorail, ran to City Hall, and they had DH's ring!! I cried again b/c I was so happy!! I still can't believe they found it!! I wish I knew the name of the CM that actually took the time to look for the ring...I give him/her a great big hug!! :) So, to me, WDW is definately magical!

skuttle - I seriously doubt they drain splash mountain on a daily/weekly/monthly/or even yearly basis.

that water smells like it hasn't been changed since the late 70's!

glad your hubby found his ring though! :)

Mary Poppins complimenting the parents (us) on the nicest, most polite and well behaved young man she'd met all day (DS13). I was just gushing with pride.

We also have had same experiences. My DS4 dropped his pressed pennies coin book in the Emporium . We only had one side filled, but we had traveled several places to get the coins we had. He was in his stroller and we were well on our way to the flying carpets ride before we knew he didn't have it. We made an about-face and turned it in at City Hall. Checking that night as we left--had found nothing. The next day, returning to our campsite at FW from a busy day at AK we found a plastic bag tied to our door handle of the camper. There was the coin book with all of his favorite pennies he had collected! I would like to thank the CM that personally had it sent to our campsite. It does pay to leave name and your hotel site on items like this.:Pinkbounc

Minivan3, what a happy story! Can you tell me what a pressed penny coin book is, where you get one, and where are these pressed pennies?

Thanks! :D

Pressed penny machines are located at several places throughout the parks and hotels. Usually they are placed at high traffic areas. At the bottom of the escalator inside Contemporary as you leave the monorail, (they have Buzz and Stitch), inside almost every shopping venue, at desk services at most hotels, FW has some by the bathrooms beside the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue, at AK look for certain animals on the pennies, and on and on. Each machine tries to have something pertaining to its location : Mickey in a cowboy outfit at FW, Brer Rabbit under the railroad at Splash Mtn., several countries at WS in Epcot have their own penny press, also rides like TOT and RNRC at MGM . There are also presses for quarters also. Take along a lot of quarters, I forget the exact amt., but it cost $1 or more to press pennies. And quarters are more. I believe most shops sell the books to collect the pennies, usually beside the autograph books. We bought ours at the Trading Post in FW when we bought our autograph books. Have fun!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Last year, during out May/June trip, I almost lost my engagement ring. We had gone to Epcot for the day, had breakfast at the Electic Umbrella. While everyone was finishing their meals, I went to MouseGears(or whatever the huge shop is called) to look around because I was looking for a really nice ring for my fiance...just as a souvenir. While I was looking, I went to fiddle with my ring, you know...twirl it and what not when I realized it wasn't there. I freaked out and got light headed. After my family calmed me down, we tried to remember when I last saw it. We figured it was still in the hotel room. I usually never take it off, but I had removed it to put on sunscreen. We figured it was either on the bed or maybe on the floor. We were worried the maid might vaccuum it up or something like that. I wasn't thinking calmly. My fiance and I immediatley took off for the front of the park at an almost run. We were staying at POR, so we figured we would have to wait forever for a bus. Well, this really nice bus driver, who we think was on break or something, came over and asked where we were going. We explained what happened, and he gave just the two of us a ride back to our hotel, right to our stop. It was a good thing too. The maid was cleaning the first of our two rooms. We explained to here why we were there, and she said to go ahead and look. Well, we found it underneath the one bed. Granted, it probably would have been there later that night, but you never know. If the bus driver hadn't given us a ride, we might not have found it in time.

Hi all

Just had to tell the Dis board about "our magical moment". It was at the Animal Kingdom (I think that we had our best day and it was my fav park....yes the mk is wonderful. but I just loved the ak!)
We did the AK all day, we arrived early, and were having an excellent morning, we did tricerotops 3x, primevail whirl, dinosaur, tough to be a bug, kilo safaris and the pagini trail, all in the morning (this was during spring break too and not an ee day to boot!) and we were on our way to lunch. I wanted to go to tusker house for lunch, but the kids wanted to go to resterantosaurus for mcdonald chicken nuggets. It was 11 am, I said, sure, why not, we are way ahead of schedule, we got there at about 11:10, and were told by a cm (who had just turned away several people by saying "the resterautosaurus is not open till 11:30 for lunch so the people wandered away,, they are still doing the character breakfast.... well, we were hot and tired, so I said, lets just sit out here at a table and wait for it to open. We did and the first thing that happened was goofy and donald duck started making faces in the window, me and the kids made faces back at them.. the next thing I knew, the cm came up to me and said "the first family that stays to wait for the opening becomes the magic family" we were ushered up to the front of the resteraunt, and waited for 11:30, the cm took down some info about us like what our name was and where we came from, the next thing that happened was that we were the only family let in at 11:25, all the cm's greeted us, we placed our order, it was brought out to us, we were seated at a table that had a table cloth, all the condiments out on plates very nicely decorated, the cm's brought our food over, made a big fuss over us, then there was an official picture taken of our family, a signed autograph of our magic moment by all the characters present at the breakfast, , and we recieved a free 5x8 picture of it , again delivered to our table.
Ok, that was shear magic.
In the afternoon, we went to camp minnie and micky, and while we waited for the lionking show, no one (and I mean no one) were at the character greeting lines, my kids cavorted with Minnie, Mickey, and Goofy for over 20 minutes, they had the characters all by themselves! Add a few icecreams, some shade, and an air conditioned bathroom in the immediate vicinity, and we had the perfect afternoon. The parade, which I thought was the best out of all of them (but I never did get to see the epcot one) the acrobates and then dinner at the rainforest....I tell you it was a day I will never forget.

Well thats all, just thought maybe this might give info to other Dis'ers how to be the magical family of the day at resterauntsarus and of course, thanks to tgm!
