Any luck walking up?

We have always had ADR's when planning our trips. This time our trip in September has had to be changed a few times. I got a job, my sister is going to go and meet us there, and we decided to go on a Disney cruise instead of the parks the whole time. Now we have to figure out alternative ADR's for the time after the cruise. I was wondering if any of the TS places take walk ups or if that is just not possible specially in September with the free dining promotion? We were especially looking for the Akershus Princess dining in Epcot. We will be there on 9/27. I will keep trying online and by calling to get a ressie, but if I don't what are the chances we could get in by just walking up and putting our name on a list. Do they even do that?

BTW I was up at 3:30 am California time to get all of our "perfect" ADR's for our trip. I got a lot of great things. I will be needing to cancel what we booked from the 17th to the 26th so if you are interested I am posting them all on the September cancellation thread. PM me if you want anything and I will try to coordinate with you!

Ahhh...lessons in letting go and going with the flow.

I think you already realize that your chances are somewhere between "slim" and "none." Especially for a princess meal!
Last time we went during free dining, every restaurant we went to had signs stating "no walk ups accepted." They were turning people away in droves.
Your best bet is to keep trying for a cancellation, even at the last minute. Some report having luck getting to the restaurant right at opening time, but I'm not sure this works during free dining.

I too love to go with the flow and wish that was possible still, but with free dinning the chance of that is slim to none. Keep checking the boards, call often AND try the online.
When I talked with a CM this month he said try between 9:30-10:30 because that is when the system updates. GOOD LUCK!! ENJOY your trip!

My DH's cousin, her DH and 5yo DS are going the week before us and they refuse to make ADRs. Last time they went was 2000 (pre-DDP, let alone FREE DDP!!!!) I keep trying to convince them (because they are NOT counter-service type people .. they like their luxuries). They're in for a rude awakening when they get there.

It takes all the fun and spontaneity out of vacations. We never get free dining because we are on special diets and dont eat counter-service but we generally eat one ts dinner each night. I loved the past when we could decide that day where we wanted to have dinner. I wish there was some sort of arrangements whereby there were some tables reserved for those without ddp. Ironically(or maybe not) i never have a problem getting ressie for Jiko(one of our favs) my guess is because its 2credits on ddp.

We tried walking up to Le Cellier several times for lunch with no luck! However my daughter did the same on her trip and got in after waiting 20 minutes!!! So you never know! Good luck
