Any luck today?

Not I.

If you are not notified by 4 PM today and your goal was to purchase 25 points to get benefits before the minimum points increase to 75, the ship will have sailed. Good Luck to all of us wanting these 25 points.

PS. Aulani and CC can be purchased with no wait listing (50 for CC). LOL.

I called this morning at 10:00 and was yet once again pushed for CC and Aulani...then was told no way i would get anything. Truthfully...i felt screwed from the beginning with my guide!

I know the feeling. I requested BWV about three weeks ago in writing. I did not find out till this week, I was put on BCV in error.

Come on, folks, let’s be serious. They can sell you 25 points today or they can sell you 75 points tomorrow. Any salesperson is going to wait a day to make three times the money.

Yes, I realize several members will decide the 75 point purchase isn’t worth it, but I bet more than a third will buy at the higher level. It’s a business and Disney knows full well what they’re doing.

I will be one of the ones if the wait list does not come through today, I will not be buying.

I wrote in another post that I purchased resale prior to the April 2016 change, however, IMO this 25 minimum change is the first step as it relates to the "benefits". I believe the next step will be members with only resale contracts no matter when they were purchased will have to have a minimum of 25 points purchased direct to get/keep the benefits. After that the next change will be that members will have to have a minimum of 75 points purchased direct to get/keep the benefits. I hope none of these happen but it is fun to discuss opinions.

I doubt now we will be purchasing points anytime before dd's wedding. Might just wait until the new resort opens up.

While that is possible, it is also just as likely that they keep the benefits. They don't seem like they cost Disney too much per person, and they do help Disney out. If people currently have 100 pre 4/16 points at a resort they no longer love or have need for, they may be hanging onto them as sleep around points just to keep the benefits.
If those benefits ever went away, that sort of contract would end up on the resale market. The more contracts there are on the market, the more the prices get pushed down. The greater the spread between direct and resale prices, the harder it will be for Disney to sell direct. Seems much easier to just keep those who are presently "in" locked into their contracts.
