Just this past weekend I picked up a City Set (big orange truck on the box) for $19, regular $60 at Walmart. Check the clearance isle and don't believe the tag. The tag on the box said $30, but it scanned for less.
Thank you. Checked walmart, nothing much and everything scanned for the clearance price. They did have a house for 40.00, and the red race car was marked down to the same price I bought it at Toys R Us. I guess the best deals are definetely before Christmas.
Because the stores stocked less this year due to the economy, I've found this year's clearance to be really thin. I didn't find any Lego sets, let alone the ones I was interested in. But, traditionally, you can find some great savings after Christmas.
If you have a Borders store nearby, sign up for Borders Rewards, it's free and they email discounts often. If the discount is for anything in the store, you can use it on Lego. They don't have a huge selection, but it might have what you want. I've seen 30%, 33% and 40% off.
