any last minute BLT add-ons?

Who is having last second thoughts about less than 100 point add-on's at BLT beside me? Has anyone bought a small contract just for the reason that if you need to sell, these do well in resale? Guess I better make up my mind quickly...

I wanted to buy a small 50 point add-on, but got overruled by the better half.

She wants us to enjoy AKV for now (makes sense) and hopefully someday a Poly DVC will be built which is her favorite resort.

I just signed up for 2 small contracts for a total of 100 pts. at BLT. Started the process yesterday. I'm really excited.

I would have loved to but with the pound to dollar rate AND the uncertainty of the economy (and therefore my job!), I daren't risk it at present.

Disney forced our hand and we got 35 points. The £-$ rate made it pretty painful, but I'm never going to want 100 points and buying resale from the UK, whilst I know it's not impossible is more hassle than I'd like.

I originally wanted 25, really not enough points at all, so ended up with 50 addon which is alot easier to sell than 25 (imao). Now I think I want another 100...

but settled for 120 points in two contracts of 60 each.

smaller contracts resales better!

sold OKW to get BLT...

got $70 for my 50 point, but only $65 for 190 points - which DVC is buying back. (they are not buying back the 50 point one)

really want another 100 - but that will wait for a few years and maybe get a deal on resale market.

I did not add on at BLT, but I became a new owner at BLT. The deadline was part of the reason why I bought on 1/11/09. I wanted to wait until summer, but thought the 200 point threshold would make my wife say no to the whole deal.

Did it! Bought two 50 point contracts for BLT today!!! Such a bright moment in any otherwise dreary winter! Now it'll just be hard to wait until first trip.

I bought a 125 pt add on. I did it as 2 smaller contracts - 75 and 50, in case I sell down the road.

We did--we bought 65 points the first day they were available, and started thinking we might need a "few more" before the minimum went up. DH bought 35 more last week, so we have an even 100 at BLT now. Looking forward to using them in December!

Congratulations to all of you who are! We're not...I've looked at our "needs" and we're pretty set. I like spicey's idea, and think it's a good "investment" of sorts...but I would need at least 120 points to be happy owning there, and that's not in the budget. There aren't any present contracts that we own that I would willingly sell. We love our home resorts and every point is accounted for by a reservation. I could buy 120 BLT in the future if our inclinations change and our budget allows.

I spoke with my guide Fri. Told him we wanted to add-on @BLT. He said he'd call me back Tues. & get my credit card#.

He still hasn't called.

When I spoke with the "operator" at DVC last week - because he had not returned my calls. They told me leaving a voice mail was just as good - in terms of meeting the Jan.14th deadline.

Still, it makes me nervous that he hasn't called. I'm going to call after lunch tomorrow if he still hasn't called me back.

nope. might've if they'd done it in march after we see how our taxes are gonna turn out... if i'd have whined a little more i might've gotten dh to do 30 pts...enough for a studio every 3 yrs. but i really wanted more like 60 so we could do every other yr and we could not do 60 and still sleep at nite. have the cash but feel it unwise to spend it right now....

I just bit the bullet today.....added on 30 pts. at Bay Lake Tower. As you said, enough for a studio every three years. I really have been back and forth with it for a couple of months. With only 2 days left, had to make the decision.

We currently have an SSR contract waiting on ROFR. My Dh and I decided on purchasing through resale because of the significant savings per point and smaller contract size (100 pts). Now, in a perfect world, if say, I were independently wealthy, my first choice would have been BLT hands down. I am a midtown Manhattan kinda girl trapped in a small GA town, lol. The BLT 1br is exactly what I would imagine my loft would look like if I lived in the Big apple. As for a small add on, looks like we won't even be close to making it, by the time we were to pass ROFR (fingers crossed) and close it will be feb. for sure. Maybe in a few years we will be able to purchase a small add on through resale. In the meantime, I will pray that the gods of the seven month window be kind to me!!!!
