Any kitty sightings lately?

I hadn't seen this thread until today but I have lots of kitty sightings to report! Actually all my experiences are in my trip report but I'll do a brief summary. There was a little kitty who decided the bus area outside Disneyland was the perfect spot to be, but I considered that dangerous with the traffic on Harbor so I reported him to guest services (and got an honorary citizen award) and he was (hopefully) gone by the end of the week.

There were many at Hungry Bear and they didn't mind if you fed them at all. My husband talked a to a cm and she said all the cm's feed them and they get very spoiled and have certain areas they hang out in.

This one was by the tables in taste pilots grill. She was close to the little cat house they have there.

I'm glad Miss kitty is doing great-- I didn't have time to see her this time what with the relatives....:scared1: and was a little afraid to go look for her without purchasing something at whitewater snacks.

It is amazing how some are sooo tame! At least enough to come up to you and sniff your hand or finger..have not yet been able to pet them though, but it’s ok if I don’t. I am just glad that Disney uses them for a humane way to get rid of mice and stuff, and give them shots and take care of them! They have to be the prettiest and most good looking cats in the world—my own cats(ozzy and Harriet) are not that good looking!!! :rotfl2:

Yeah I noticed--they are pretty cats. They must be fed pretty quality food though, it does make cats look prettier. I know the philosophy with the feral cat coalition (volunteered for years for them) is to obligate the people who trap fix and release to feed them as high quality food as they can afford as they're not going to get a lot of nutrition and they are living hard lives. They actually have people sign a contract when they check them in.

**probably the prettier cats do get fed more--therefore making them tamer around people and we just see them more. You see this a lot with cats, in litters, the cutest turn out the most social, same as in a household of multiples.

I am surprised that they would have any kittens. But, from what I hear they have a ton of cats to keep track of and feral cats are smart and not easy to catch. I can't wait to see them and maybe pet a few. :)

I didn't spot any cats this week, but I did see a large rat run from one bush to another on the pathway out of the park to Harbor!

I saw 2 hanging out in bugs land in DCA last week :)
it was cute, everyone was taking pics lol.

I finally found my card reader...here are some pictures of the cat I saw by WWS a few weeks ago:

I always see the orange stripped cats and kittens up in the hillside behind the winery, if go up the stairs from WCT to the right is a lounge and a hillside to GRR and the cats are there in the grass like all the time! and they are pretty tame, they will come up to you if you put ur hand out!

That's Daisy! She hangs at WWS. We asked the cm's what her name is during our last trip.

Thanks for telling me her name. :) I will be back at DL this weekend for the 1/2 Marathon and I plan on eating at WWS on Saturday. Hopefully I will see her again. :thumbsup2

Oddly enough...I didn't see any of them last week! :( It was fairly busy at the parks and hot during the day so maybe they were cat napping or sunbathing elsewhere. Maybe next year. I was hoping to see some when we were running through the parks so early but even then didn't. :sad1:

I ate at WWS on Saturday before the Expo but I didn't see Daisy. I didn't even think to look for the cats while I was running.

We saw a Kitty run across the roof of the Bear restaurant near Splash Mountain!!

Here a kitty we saw at Hungry Bear in July of last year. He was very friendly, letting us pet him and everything. Was this the one you saw?

I've seen this one at the Hungry Bear on several occasions, she always has to come and say hello and see what kind of a handout she can get. I usually dont' feed the cats, that food isn't good for them and Disney does has feeding stations for the cats. Plus, they're supposed to catch the mice, kind of ironic though don't you think? I hope Mickey and Minnie lock thier doors at night. :rotfl:

That looks like the one I saw last Monday. It was preening on the stone wall under the patio at the far north side of Hungry Bear.

I read about them in Mice Tales earlier this year. This mouser was the first one I wver saw.

I saw two on my trip last month! My first time seeing the DL kitties! :) There was a brown tabby with white paws/stomach chilling on a rock by railroad tracks that I noticed while I was on the Mark Twain. And a small, fairly skittish black cat was hanging out by the DLH, we'd see him/her on the DTD-side of the Dreams Tower.

We saw two on Labor Day in the morning as we rode the steamboat. One by Hungry Bear---very fluffy, light colored fur. One on the riverbank, dark fur. They were so unexpected and so cute!
