Any Janet Evanovich Fans Out There?

The Between the numbers books are good. I have already read all the numbers books up to Sizzling Sixteen and all the plum books:Plum Lovin, Plum Lucky, Plum Spooky. The book Visions of Sugar Plums introduced the character of Diesel who seems to show up for each of the between the numbers books. He has now crossed over to what may be the start of a new series. The new book is called Wicked Appetite and features a new main character Elizabeth Tucker who Diesel comes to protect from Wulf. Read all the Plum books first though if you want to try this one.
I love Janet Evanovich's writing. It is light and funny and can be quite suspensful. The character of Carl the monkee introduced in Plum Spooky is probably the funniest thing I have ever read.

I reading the numbers series too but I can't get past number 5 because my library never has it in stock!

Wow! I'm excited to hear this. The last time I read up about the movie they had someone else playing Lula. I'm so glad that got Sherri to do it!

I've read all of the numbers books except sixteen. I have it but just haven't got to it yet.

I'm glad to see they are making a movie out of the first book. The entire time I have been reding these books I always pictured Lula looking like Sherry Shepherd. Guess who's playing Lula in the movie???

Not really liking Katheryn Heigl as Stephanie though!

I totally agree about Katherine Heigl. I don't really care for her to begin with and cannot imagine her playing Stephanie. Terrible casting IMHO.

I'm glad about Sherry Sheppard, but I always thought Monique would make a great Lula.

I don't read the books anymore. I got to 14 which I could barely finish. I love the books up until about 10 or 11, after that they just got dumb and repititious.

I have read all the books, I am waiting for the Deisel series to come out in paperback.

Love love love Ranger and Grandm Mazar

They are one of my favourite series of books. I've read all of them 1-16 - they are one of the few books thats consistently make me laugh out loud.

And its gotta be Ranger... that man is FINE (at least he is in my imagination)! :rotfl2:

I'm like you, not many books make me laugh out loud, but along with Stephanie another series that always makes me laugh is the Southern Sister mysteries by Ann George. Sadly, she has passed away, but her books always made me laugh out loud and still do. I've read the all more than once or twice. Love her characters.

I've read all the Stephanie Plum books and many of the other books by Evanovich as well. I love the numbered books, but, as others have stated, feel the earlier ones were better. My husband has even read them b/c he heard me laughing my head off and it piqued his interest.:lmao: I love the one about the dry cleaning lady who had a huge black mole...just thinking about it now makes me laugh again!:rotfl2:

I have yet to see them make a movie from a book and not ruin it. Well, maybe Eye of the Needle was as good as the book. But, seriously, I hope they don't make a mess of it.:sad2: I like Kathryn Heigle, so I think that would be okay. I used to want Sandra Bullock, but I guess she's a little too old?:confused3

Ranger or Morelli? Has to be Morelli. They played doctor for pete's sake!:rotfl:

I just finished 15 last week. I have to admit the I like the earlier ones the best. Up to about 8 or 9, my favorite is the one where Stephanie and Lula go to Las Vegas, hilarious! As much as I love the books and Stephanie, I'm getting a little tired of the back and forth between Morelli and Ranger.
PICK ONE ALREADY! :rotfl:

I've read all of the Stephanie Plum books and liked the earlier ones best too. As far as the Morelli/Ranger issue, I'm wanting her to pick one too (Ranger please!).

I still can't decide if I want her to pick Ranger or Morelli. There's something really appealing about them both, if you ask me. God, I can't wait for the movie to come out!

I'm currently halfway through Plum Lovin' and loving (haha) it. What a great story! It had me laughing outloud several times already!

LOVE JanetEvanovich. I thought book 15 was hysterical. There have been plenty of time where I just laugh and laugh and my husband sits there and shakes his head. There is a lot to say for a book where you can laugh out loud in a completely empty house.

Holly:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

So, I just finished the third book last night. LOVED it! I swear they get better each time. Anybody else reading them right now? I'm probably going to get the box set of the next few books over the weekend. I'm trying to read a Jane Green book now, but it isn't doing anything for me.

i love them!!! she's hysterical!!

I love those books, though I'm way behind on reading the series. That's okay, since it gives me more to look forward to reading. She's hard to read in public, due to the hysterical and uncontrollable laughter... :rotfl2:

DH and I are reading them, I'm one book ahead of him. When one of us laughs out loud the other tries to guess if it is because of Lula, Grandma or a car exploding. :lmao:

I can do without a road trip to Trenton but I too love Stephanie,Lula, Connie and co. Grandma is my favourite and I like some of the minor characters like Sally, Joe and the Mooner but my fav. oddball is Diesel
I also have them on my iPod so I can listen to them when I'm away. The audiobooks (I can't really do audiobooks unless I've read the books) include interviews with Janet that are pretty amusing:)
I've read all of her books since day 1 and now I'm starting in on the between the number books.
I really like Visions of Sugar Plums and Wicked Appetite (new protagonist). Next on my list is Plum Spooky.
If you like J.E. you might also like G.A. McKevett's Savannah Reid,Carole Berry's Bonnie Indermill, Joan Hess' Claire Malloy, Kathy Hogan Trochek's Callahan Garrity
Oh, and maybe M.C. Beaton's Agatha Raisin and Dorothy Cannell's Ellie Haskell
LOL, this thread sorta struck a nerve;)
I love to read and I :love::love: mysteries, even more so when they feature witty,b*ll#y women

I love these books (although I'm not crazy about the in-between the numbers ones- They're too out there and I don't like Diesel's character).

Lula is hilarious and I think Stephanie should pick Morrelli!!! (I know I would!)

I love these books too! Stephanie is hilarious!

Can't wait for the next one!

I am sure I bring much amusement to the bus each morning by laughing out loud!!:rotfl:

I listen to her books on my ipod and I will be walking around the house trying not to burst out laughing so I don't have to explain to my husband about Bob pooping somewhere. They are hilarous
