My DS's computer crashed. It has happened before; I hooked the hard drive up to my laptop, but it wasn't able to open the drive to backup the data. Ran chkdsk/f/r to try and help it. Found some bad sectors, and took the whole night to finish, but still no luck with reading the hard drive. I started running chkdsk again several hours ago, and now it is finding "File record segment unreadable" started at 185954 and has been consecutive up to 186252 so far. I am assuming this is a bad sign. The drive is vibrating as normal, no clicks or anything. My son has music and MineCraft files on there he really wants to get off.
Should I interrupt the chkdsk or would that be bad? At this rate, it could take a month to complete. Anything else I can try to save the data?
TIA Marsha
