Any issues upgrading tickets bought through employee discount?

I am considering getting tickets through work as they have the best price. I want to make sure I can upgrade these onsite. They are sent to us from WDW after a request is sent from work with our payment so these are WDW issued tickets. Anyone else work for a company that sponsors a popular Epcot ride and do the same (not sure I should mention the company)? Any specific wording I should use to ask Disney if upgrades are allowed? Thanks in advance!
 
I can't say for certain, but I would imagine that so long as you are paying for them and they are not comp tickets, you should be able to upgrade them. Just make sure you use the tickets to enter a park at least once before upgrading to retain the discount. We have used tickets from TicketsAtWork.com before and gotten a decent discount and had no problem upgrading them.
 
You're only allowed to upgrade tickets within the first 14 days of purchase. If you bought these through your company chances are that they were bought in bulk many months/years ago and are out of the 14 day window.

I'm aware of the ticketing policies as I am a concierge CM. Ticket upgrades can be made within 14 days of purchase of the ticket. The computer recognizes the date of first purchase and the date of first use. Guests have 14 days to use all entitlements of a ticket once it's first activated at a park turnstile.

Then that conflicts with Cheshire Figment's ticket sticky at the top of this board. He's also a CM.

Any MYW ticket can be upgraded within 14 days of first use. There are no exceptions, other than those discussed in the next paragraph. This applies even if the ticket has the No Expire Option. If the first day of use is a Sunday, the last time an upgrade or modification may be done is 11:59:59pm of the second Saturday.

In addition, effective August 1, 2011, if you have used all of your entitlements on a ticket the last day of use of entitlements is also the last day that you can do any sort of upgrade. So if you had a four day ticket and your fourth day of use was a Friday, from Saturday onward you cannot do any upgrade even though it is within the 14 day period. Note this does not apply to to tickets on the KTTW or to multi-day Florida Resident Tickets; in these cases the Guest name is preprinted on the ticket and they may add days after the last entitlement is used as long as they have a photo ID that matches the name preprinted on the ticket.

I have upgraded tickets that were purchased months before the first use with no problem so is this something new?

I think that you might want to re-check some things.
This is one of the most basic of ticket rules.

Consider the hundreds of one-day and two-day tickets that were purchased as part of a resort package "minimum"
that, years later, are used to enter a park and then upgraded with extra days and other assets (even to AP.)
 
I just checked old tickets:

1. Ordered a 3-day MYW from Airmiles. The date purchased on the ticket shows Jan 23, 2013.

2. Ordered a 5-day MYW from UCT. It shows a purchase date of Jan 4, 2013


I upgraded both to 6-day PH's on Feb 28, 2013, the day we arrived at Disneyworld. That was more than 14 days.

I just upgraded my dd 6 day tickets bought in 2 years from from AAA to annual passes. Unless there was a huge change in the last 3 weeks, you are mistake.
 
This thread is reminding me of why upgrading discounted tickets is such a crap shoot.

I have some UT tickets that I purchased last May before the price increase and want to upgrade (want to add WPF&M).

I'm seriously considering just returning these to UT (and eating their 5% return fee) and then repurchasing new, upgraded tickets from UT just to avoid the potential headache:headache: of trying to price bridge and upgrade these at WDW (had a bad experience last time - it sort of ruined the opening day of our trip and took a lot of time and effort to fix:().

Now if there was some way to guarantee that Chesire Figment would be my ticketing CM when I went to perform the transaction, I wouldn't feel the need to go to all this trouble.:laughing:
