Any issues booking DVC and cash stays for the same time?

We have a DVC stay booked. We are considering booking a cash stay for the in-laws to join us at the same time. Are there any issues I should be aware of doing this? I would be the one booking both stays but only staying in our DVC room.

As long as you're primary on your DVC room and one of your in-laws is primary guest on their cash room, there shouldn't be any issues.

You can book and hold two reservations in your name before check in, but once you arrive you can't be registered to two rooms at the same time, so it's easier to simply make the cash reservation in their name from the start.

I’m a bit confused by your question - would you list yourself as the lead or a guest on both reservations? If so, why? My sense is that Disney’s tech doesn’t deal well w/ folks registered as staying in 2 rooms at the same time, so I’d likely just put one reservation in your parents’ name & the other in yours .
If you’re just the one doing the physical booking for them & won’t be listed on their reservation, I can’t think of any issues there, you’ll likely want info. on whatever credit card they want linked to their room before you book, though - although it’s been a couple of years since I booked a cash room so I’m not sure on that.

I'm not sure - I'd ask the experts on the Disney Resorts forum that question. I know someone with an AP can book two rooms with the discount, but I'm not sure about booking one room via DVC points and one AP discount room for someone else.
