Dear Friends:

Doing low-carb. Visiting WDW soon. Planning meals in advance. So far so good...

Please let me know your thoughts on the following ideas:

Lunch:

Taco Salad at Pirate y Pericol (MK)
Strawberry Salad at Plaza Resturaunt (MK)
Stromboli's Chicken Garden Salad (no peaches) at Pinocchio's (MK)

Dinner:

Cobb Salad/Pan-Fired Grouper w/sides at Brown Derby (MGM)
Crystal Palace (MK)
Roasted Chilean Bass w/sides at Yachtsman Steakhouse
Frisee Salad/Oak Grilled Atlantic Salmon w/sides at Flying Fish (Boardwalk)

I know, a lot of salad. I would like more variety, but am too shy about speaking with the chef about options. I would be ok asking for something as a substitute or a deletion from the server, but that is about all I am comfortable doing.

Also, does anyone know if Marrakesh at Epcot and 'Ohana at Polynesian have any low-carb side dish options. I do not just want to eat the meat.

Thanks in advance.

I think what I would do in most places is just ask them to leave off the starch. I think in most cases they would probably add more veggies in it's place.

Another option is to order a side salad and an appetizer that is mostly protein-based.

Also, in EPCOT, I really enjoy the buffet in Norway. There are lots of options there, and the cost is quite reasonable, especially for lunch!

Keep in mind also that you'll be walking a LOT, and you'll probably burn off more than you normally do! Have a great trip!

Ohana's is a low carbers dream for dinner. The salad dressing they serve is a vinagrette and while sweet I think it was on the side. And I could have all the salad I wanted.

The main course is ALL meat. I actually don't remember any side dishes at all. LOL. Just the giant skewers of steak, pork loin, turkey and shrimp.

I am sure this will be one of the highlights of our low carb trip in Sept.

I wish that I could help you, but I haven't been to WDW since being on the Adkin's Diet.

But I am very interested in what your experiences will be.

Please post your experiences when you come back.

God bless you, best wishes, and encouragement, RaySharpton:)

At Ohana's for dinner, I think I remember a really good vegetable stir fry and the salad is very tasty. They had egg rolls too. How about breaking that open and just eating the inside (the veggies), and skip the fried outer part?

Ok, I just went to wdwig.com just to make sure: Now that I think about it, last year when we ate there we didn't have the egg rolls. That was a few years ago. How about eating the inside of the wontons? I think they are steamed, but I can't remember.
