e-mail (which I do not open) which appears to be porn. Very suggestive headings and what I can do about it? Thanks very much.

I have the same problem and I'm not sure what to do about it. I don't open them. I opened one in the past thinking there would be an unsubscribe link somewhere and when I clicked on "unsubcribe" it would just bring my into other sites.

I don't know if this will help you because I don't know how to STOP the email from getting to my mailbox but when I do receive one, I add it to my block sender list and then delete it (without opening) so hopefully I won't receive anymore from that particular sender. It has cut down on the number of unwanted email that makes it to my inbox.

I was getting them too until I changed my email address. I still have the old one active but hardly ever use it. My new one is only given to people I trust and is not listed anywhere on the internet.

Where is the block sender file? I didn't know there was one! I would love to use it.

Any ideas on why I am getting so much e-mail (which I do not open) which appears to be porn.

...jurst "lucky" ?.....sumtimes the sites ya visit sell thar visitors' IP's to "other sites"....that's a possibility. :)

Hi Beauty,
I did the same as you. I originally had hotmail and received a ton of junk mail which included porn. The block sender option is in the options menu. I kept the hotmail address but I got another address thru mac.com that I only give to friends and family and haven't received any junk mail yet and it's been almost a year since I've had it.

I am experiencing the same problem, marlasmom. About 2 weeks ago on a similar thread, someone recommended downloading this shareware at www.mailwasher.net
What the program does, is "bounces" spam back to the sender making it seem as if it has reached a e-mail address that is no longer valid.
I have found the program easy to use. Although I don't know if it is making a difference yet (I am sure that it takes time for your e-mail address to be deleted from those lists), at least it is better than having a piece of porn open right up with your 13 year old standing behind you.
To block senders in Outlook Express - which is what I was doing until I downloaded Mail Washer, I must have a couple of hundred names on my list  - do this:

Highlight the spam.
Click on Message (from across the top).
From that drop down - click on Block Sender.

The only problem with this is that the spam senders constantly change e-mail addresses making them impossible to keep blocked.

Delete the messages without opening. Trying to unsubscribe gives them exactly what they want which is a valid hit on your e-mail address. I have found nothing yet that works because these jerks keep getting more cleaver as to how to get this stuff past the filters.

I have a general rule of thumb. If I don't recognize the e-mail address I delete the message without opening. It doesn't matter how valid the subject line looks.

Without opening any, I forward it all to AOL. The amount has decreased dramatically.
