Hi,
This is my first post, and DH and I are planning a surprise trip for our 2 boys 13 & 6. We will be staying at CBR 11/29-12/6.

My plan is to have everything packed in the car the night before & drag them out of bed at 5am for our early morning flight. To keep it a secret a little longer, I was thinking of telling them that we had to go pick up relatives at the airport, then spring it on them there.

Anyone have any other ideas on how to spring it on them? Make it more special? I want it to be a day they never forget. :yay:

I think it is on the disney site where you can have a charactor call and tell them that they heard the were coming or something to that effect for 2.95 per call or so that is what i plan on doing for my kids they know but i think that is a cute idea. GOOD LUCK!!! :cool1:

We told our boys but did not do anything to surprise them with it. I would have liked to get a bunch of boxes, wrap each one and put them inside of each, with a book on Disney in the smallest box. Maybe even a hidden mickey book which is really thin. You could do this the night before you leave and let them open it before they go to bed for the night. Good luck and I hope you have fun! :woohoo:

I think it would be neat to wake them up to it. My dd and ds are hard to get up very early in the morning but I guarantee you that if I leaned down and whispered " Honey its time to get up. We are going to WDW." in their ear, they would spring up out of that bed and probably be dressed and in the car in a heartbeat. I would just have to make sure that my dh and I were all ready to go as to not hear "Aren't you ready YET?!!".
No matter how you suprise them, you'll be #1 in their book for awhile!

we'll be telling our boys at the airplane. I have even contemplated telling them on the plane with the help of the flight attendants. Our flight connects through cinci so they wouldn't really have a clue where they are going until the last plane.

I would love to keep the surprise going until the last minute possible but think they will be going nuts in their seats on the plane. I have started collecting some gifts that are all disney related to give to them on the plane. Thats when I thought I would tell them.

My other plan is to take them to their grandparents and surprise them there so that everyone can be there and then head to the airport after that. This is the most logical plan because I probably would have to explain why I am bringing my dog there if we were just picking up relatives. Good luck however you do it.

The surprise part is more exciting to me than the planning. But it kills me not to talk to them about the trip.

We are taking my 2 nieces in October. We are going to pick them up after school and tell them we are going on an adventure. I will have the portable DVD player with me and I will pop in a "movie" which will be the Dis planning DVD. I will hand them each a bag with dis themed items and tell them

YOU GUYS FEEL LIKE GOING TO DISNEY????

For our boys I went to the Discovery School site (Puzzle Maker) and created a hidden message word search. Once all of the words are found the letters that remain spell out a message. You can have the message be as long as you want. We are giving it to them on the plane.
