My school did a red carpet event theme for our district dance. Make everyone dress up. Get a red carpet. Take lotsa pictures!

have a red carpet and then have a place where like the "paparrazzi" (sp?) would take your pictures and instead of paparrazzi you could hire your own photographer as well as the parents of the guys and girls at the party.
