Any idea when SWA will publish fares for March 2015?

Southwest "Travel Tools" page says they'll publish through 3/6/15 on 7/28.

I need to book air for mid-March.

I want to book my March trip, then watch for fare drop. If possible, we could then apply travel funds to an October trip where we have the luxury of making a fly/drive decision. I'm afraid we'll be getting too close to October to be able to work my evil diabolical plan.

oops, sorry, hadn't read through your whole post, sorry!

ETA again, lol : So I called SW and asked when flights for mid March would open. She said that date isn't given to them until this next window opens, so July 28th, or after, is when they will get and post the date that the next window for mid March flights and beyond will open. It's like a little over two and a half months from when the Nov dates opened on May 5th I think, till July 28th, so I'm guessing the next window opening probably not till like mid Oct. Hope this helps a little, anyway! :goodvibes

Thank you Minniekins. I was disappointed when I saw they were only going through March 6. Maybe they want to up the fare for Spring Break travelers. We are cruising out of FLL March 2015, but doing Universal October 2014.

This is unprecedented BIG travel for us and I'm anxious to get things planned. We are a family of 7, so small changes in fares and the addition of bag fees makes a BIG difference. I would feel so much more comfortable getting my cruise plans in order. The October plans can be more fluid, but it's going to sneak up on me quickly.

I LOVE vacation planning, but I don't do waiting very well. I REALLY don't want to wait until October to book our March trip. I might have to jump on a deal from another carrier and learn to pack light.

I'm in a similar situation. We have a trip planned for October and I bought our tickets the day they were released. The fares have only gone up since and the low fares only lasted a few days. We are travelling again in May and I am working with not only a tight budget, but also a tight time frame for our return. We're returning on a Tuesday and the kids will have to be in school on Wednesday morning. We don't want to fly out too early (nothing before 11am) but we also really need to be HOME by 9pm. The cheapest airport for us is almost 2 hours away so we are limited. We may need to fly on Delta into our local (10 minutes away) airport if SWA doesn't have times that work out, but that might be a budget-buster.

I looked at the Delta flights into our local airport and right now, they are $280 which is within my $300 budget. The times are great (but I know they could change) so I am keeping an eye on them. I'd prefer to fly SWA since I will have enough points to cover at least one R/T ticket. We may end up all flying out of FNT and then have only DH return to FNT (on points), with the kids and I flying into GRR on Delta. Since I am planning on paying for 3 R/T tickets anyways, I will be willing to fly Delta if the price is comparable to SWA.

Unlike others, I am not in a hurry for the flights to be released. Since the prices are usually the lowest when they are first released (at least from MI airports), I need as much time as possible to save up so I have the funds to buy them:rolleyes1. The longer, the better!

The dates released today are through 4/6/15.

The next release is on 10/27 for dates through 6/5/15.
