Any idea on "high" season dates for Spring 2005?

Trying to plan our trip for next Spring. Is it too early to find out what the dates for "high" and "lower" season are (for hotels)? Does it have anything to do with Easter? Spring Break? Easter is earlier next year so I am wondering if that makes the "lower" season start earlier that it did this year. I think this year, rates dropped on the 18th of April.

Even though Spring Breaks are spread out through March and April, the week before and the week after Easter are ALWAYS the most crowded at Disney. As you stated, Easter is earlier next year, I think the 27th or 28th of March. We are Dvc and I know their points are more these busiest 2 weeks. Our school always has break starting the end of March, this year we went to Disney but next year we won't since it coinsides with Easter. We are considering going to Arizona!

We want to go next April too and looks like April 18th is when it changes. If I book my room for a couple days before that do which rate would I pay regular or peak??
thanks Diane

dimoe,

Maybe others can confirm, but I believe I've read on this board that you'll pay both rates. What I mean is if you have 3 days before the rate changes, then you'll pay the one rate for the 3 days and the other rate for the other days.

You can always contact a CM via email. WDW contact form is here:

Actually, you'll pay the rate your room is at the day of CHECK-IN. If you want to get the lower rate for the last few days of your stay, you'll have to check out & recheck in. Many times, you won't have to switch rooms, but it is a possibility.

Dimoe,

Where did you find the date of April 18? I tried the link that cmonroe provided, but I couldn't get it to go past 2004. I know this year regular season started on the 18th, but next year Easter is early and I was hoping that they would switch to regular season earlier than April 18th.

Just because Easter is early doesn't mean that peak season will end early. Many schools have their spring break after easter, and even into April no matter when Easter happens to be.

If you check in during peak season, you will pay peak season rates for your whole stay UNLESS you check out and check back in. In most cases, you won't' have to change rooms, but there is that possibility.

Usually Disney doesn't release official dates and rates until later in the year. I seem to remember the September/October timeframe for some reason.

Use the last half of April as the guideline and book after that if you can for now and adjust if needed later on.

Can you confirm that this will work the same way in the other direction also? Book rooms during value season then when the season changes, it will stay value?
