BF used a phone at work last week and was caught doing so by his manager. He had left his mobile at home and wanted to call me. I don't think they're not supposed to use the phone as such, but he went into the medical room to use the phone, as it was quieter, and this apparently isn't the done thing. He got a few stern words from his manager but nothing more. Problem is, his manager asked if he'd used the phone in there before. BF stupidly said 'no', he'd never used it. Truth is, he's always leaving his phone at home and has used that phone a few times (maybe 3 - not loads) to let me know he'd forgotten it. He was silly to lie, but I think he just panicked
Now of course he realises, his manager could easily check whether it had been used, and find out he'd been lying.
Poor thing is worried sick. He's a good employee, been there almost 10 years, and loves his job.
Personally I think if he gets found out, he might get a slap on the wrist, but nothing more, but he's concerned he'll be fired.
Anyone know if they can fire someone for this?
