Any Horse characters at Disneyland???

Gonig with my 3 year old neice who is a total horse freak. Are there any Disney horse characters???

Bullseye (Woody's horse from Toy Story) and there is a horse from Beauty and the Beast - Phillippe. Those are the only two I know of....

I've seen Horrace Horsecollar at the MK in WDW... He was with Clarabelle Cow.

I love horses too. Did you know that currently (Last year anyway) Disney has on property 32 horses. I am always trying to be able to receive permission to visit them, I do have knowledge, experience and skill with horses. So far, permission denied. Oh well, I will continue to try. I have not asked Disney directly, but rather have spoken with various Cast Members, hoping if I find the right on, especially in Frontier Land, then maybe I will hear a yes. Again, so far, I'm sorry.
All of the horses are located behind Toon Town. One would never know it. I never smell anything of horse, when I am at Dl.
I believe that she will love getting a ride on the horse drawn wagon. The ride is free, and the trip encompasses going around Main Street. There are two stops. Also at Frontier Land, there is a petting zoo. Sometimes one of the draft horses will be in that area. Not in the petting zoo, but near by. You also may see a bull, and a cow. Not in the same pen, believe me, not a good idea.
My trip in 2007, there were 28 horses. Somewhere between then and last year, 4 more were added to Disney's herd. I would so love to see them. It does not matter that I have had my own horse, or that I live near rural areas, and can visit them. Where ever there are horses, if I am allowed there, one can find me there. Or planning a trip to go.

We have spent some time talking to the horse drivers on Main Street and it is so interesting. They are so cool, and the training for those horses is amazing. Too bad POD is gone, because Prince Caspian at the beginning always rode the most beautiful horses!

My only question is when are you going? With Main Street under repairs, I am unsure if they are using the horse drawn and horseless cars right now. Bt after March everything should be back up.

They are repaving MS and redoing the horse drawn trolley tracks. I hope you're going after March or late in March so your DD can hopefully see the horses.

Gisele, I was listening to an official Disneyland podcast and the CM they interviewed for it works at Circle D Ranch (the backstage ranch that houses all the animals at DLR) and he said the only way people can get access to Circle D to see the animals is if they worked at Circle D, were regular CMs who were awarded for good behavior by their leads, or guests who have booked special vacations through Disney.

As for the special vacations, the only one I can think of would be Adventures by Disney?

There's also Jingles (right?), the one Carrousel horse that's from Mary Poppins, right? Not a real horse, but if you showed her MP really quick this week she might have fun with that.

I had been told by one of the CM's that was working at the petting zoo, that just recently (That was back in August of 08) CM's had been allowed to visit that area. Also Make A Wish Foundation guests. As well as people like you had said, that are booked via Disney Adventures (Which sounds nice, but with DA very expensive is my understanding)
I wonder what the procedure is for applying to work with the horses and other animals. I was going to ask at the office that is on West Ball Rd. but alas, did not. Sure, I can call or go on line. The way I figure it, there is probably quite a bit competition to work there, for so many people love animals. I don't care much to be honest, to have to possibly deal with a lot of competition. I just do not care much for it at all (Sigh)
