Any hints for kids nervous about rides

My Children DD7 and DS3 love regular carnival rides even roller coasters. However, last year when we went to Disney my daughter would only ride Its a small world, Goofy's Barnstormer,Tea cups, Flying Dumbo etc. Basically she is afraid of the dark rides. I spent some time on you tube with her and my DS3 and we watched videos of the rides, I think it is helping. She is talking about going on Peter Pans Flight and Pirates and maybe even Space mountain now. I honestly do not even think it is the dark that she is afraid of, I think it is more of a fear of the unknown.
Any other ideas on how to handle this?

How about glow necklaces or even a small flashlight for them to hold during a dark ride? Just make sure that they don't shine it at other people or shine it on things that would ruin it for others on the ride.
