Any guesses on how busy it will be on Aug. 21-26?

Hello all,
My wife and I are getting ready for our first Disney trip, and we are really looking forward to it. One thing has us worried though, and that is how busy it is going to be. For the last two years we have gone to USF in October and there were no lines. But this time we are going to WDW on August 21-26, do you all think that it will be that busy? I think it won't be too bad because a lot of kids will be going back to school. I am not expecting light crowds like in October, but if someone could reasure me that the crowds will be lighter than in July or June I could breathe a little easier :earsboy: Thanks.

Been that week, and I think it is a very good time to go.
You will be very pleased with the crowds as the have been very
light dirung that time in the past.
Will be a bit warm, but you can work around that.

I hope they are very manageable since we will be down 8/19 - 8/28 for our first august trip! :cool1:

Have fun! :)

It was very manageable this time of year last year. So much so we are planning the same time frame again this year. YEAH!!! :sunny: Less than a month!!! :jumping1:

Our last 3 trips to WDW have been during that time. It is nice. It is crowded but not overcrowded, like what we experienced the end of June this year, it is manageable. Last year we were there in between the 2 hurricanes so it kept the crowds down a bit more. Have a great time! :flower:

The first two weeks of August the crowds are insane. The second two weeks of August the crowd levels falls to "just" crazy. The southern schools go back in late August so that helps to cut down on the day trippers. We were there once for the second and third week of August. The crowd thinned out some during the third week but it was still packed.

Hey it's still a great time to go. Everything's running at full speed and open late. You just have to make a commando plan for the parks and stick to it.

We went the same time two years ago and are going the 20-27 again. We found it enjoyable and less crowded. Most Southern schools(we are the North) are in school and it is the end of the European holiday. So, it was nice and we walked on a lot of rides. Hope you enjoy. Maybe we will see you. :sunny:

We are going Aug 19-26, planned it because I heard mid to late August was not as busy.

But with the free dining it may be more busy.

With the free dining, I believe it will be very crowded. Disney has reinstated the free dining program, enough said! :sad1: We will be there too!

I'm hoping they reinstated the free dining because they didn't get as many "takers" as they'd hoped!!! That would mean there will be less crowds for us!!! :jumping1:

So far it sounds good. I actually like it when the parks have a good average size crowd, becuase then the park operates at its best. The workers, or in Disney terms "Cast Members", have to work and not slack off, but yet they are not being driven crazy and tired by it being so crowded. Also, when it is off season and not too many people are there, then they cut way back on street performances and such, I know this from my experiences at USF. So I kind of whant them at an average operating level, but not so that I have to wait more than 30 mins. for the majority of the rides. I understand for some of the biggies, like Space Moutain and Mission Space, that the lines can get over 30 mins., but waiting more than 30 mins. for say, It's A Small World, or The Great Movie ride, just seems silly to me. Having said that, though, I am someone that has spent my long parts of my life waiting in line. I grew up only 90mins. away from Cedar Point in Ohio, and I have waited over 3 hours for some of their rides before, well becuase they are well worth it. 3 hours to go over 100 mph, is worth it, over 1 hour to get that dumb song stuck in your head for the rest of the trip, and just to see dolls spin in circles, umm no. Don't get me wrong it is a classic, but I have better things to do than wait that long. Like go dancing :dancer: LOL I just had to somehow get that emote in. I think it is funny as heck. :cool1: :rotfl2:
