I've never baked anything in my life, and generally dislike reality shows, but DW got me hooked on this! I was also rooting for Jurgen but thought Giuseppe was consistently the best and deserved to win.

The word online is that Paul Hollywood had some personal beef against Jurgen. He was probably intimidated by his baking skills.

He was the obvious winner of the year...the minute he went home, I knew the winner was gonna win b/c he was the only other true competition this year...

I mean, when one of the finalists is saying "Jurgen taught me all this", yeah Jurgen was in another league...and the fact he was helping his competitors all year meant he was the right kind of guy to win, so I'm annoyed they sent him home when he wasn't even the worst in the week...

I can honestly say I know nothing of the show’s personalities and inter relationships. For me it’s all about the ability to produce a product from a standard recipe.

He definitely wasn't the worst in the week. He won the technical for heaven's sake. Their expression say it all...

Should have been a 4-way final. The 2 best bakers didn't get to go head to head. But the right person won.

I loved Lizzy (even if I needed closed captioning to understand most of what she said). Here, we can watch a follow up show called “Extra slice” on the Friday (the show is on Tuesday) and the baker that got kicked off that week appears on it. Lizzie had me in stitches. I don‘t know if you can view the show in the US, but if you can (and you like Lizzy), I highly recommend at least her episode.

I probably would have been happy with Giuseppe IF Jurgen had been in the finals. Eliminating Jurgen gave Giuseppe the clearance to win. The producers or Paul or both decided Giuseppe could sell more cookbooks than Jurgen. They were wrong.

You are right about Lizzys accent lol. I love all the accents on the show, but I definitely had to read the subtitles when she spoke. I think Lizzy and Jurgen should have made it to the finals.

I LOVE this show. For the last several weeks, I knew I'd be sad no matter which baker went home. Genuinely liked them all. Also VERY upset that Jurgen wasn't in the finals, he was so talented, but I've been pulling for Giuseppe too from the get go. (and Jurgen,) so happy that Giuseppe won. Lizzy was so funny, and I too needed subtitles._ I loved Maggie too. Loved the post credit info on what the bakers have been up to.

Love the show here too! Agree about Jurgen. I would have been happy if Jurgen, Giuseppe, or Chiggs won. Those three were the most consistently good bakers. Crystelle is a lovely person, but she isn't on the same tier and I'm not a fan of the spices she uses in every bake. I wanted to see her do something different.

Also a fan of Freya. She was sweet. Happy that she and Lizzie are friends because I liked both of them
