Recently I have heard alot of negative reports about DLH concierge. We will be staying at the GC concierge in September and I was wondering what you thought about their concierge service? Let me know your experiences with them and what you thought about their service (good and bad).

Thanks

We were very pleased with the concierge service at the Grand Californian for our weekend there in May.

Granted, we didn't use their services much, but we enjoyed:

- Having someone from the concierge staff greet us as we drove in and take us directly to our room for check-in IN the room.

- The servers in the concierge lounge were VERY friendly and one of the staff came around handing out Disney Adventures magazines to kids; my daughter got two different issues and was thrilled.

- They did answer the one question I had about buying blackout day passes for APs -- that's all I really needed from them in the way of assistance.

The best perk of concierge to us was the lounge; we ate a good breakfast there and the evening wine/appetizer hours made us so full we really didn't need to eat dinner. :D

:wave:Thanks Michelle. Its great to hear your experience with them was good. :sunny:

Anyone else have any comments.:earsboy:

:wave:Thanks DisneyaHolic23 for that GREAT ;) trip report. I had forgotten I had read it months ago, but its good to read it again. My only comment is I wish concierge at DL and WDW were about the same. It looks like to me that DL concierge service needs to be improved on in the future.

Also DisneyaHolic23 is there a good room location you would suggest I suggest when I do speak to guest services? or is anywhere you go is great due its on the fifth floor.;)

We requested a theme park view. We were given Paradise Pier, which I would recommend. You look over the pool, and then over that section of CA. We woke up to testing of Muholland Madness, California Screamin, & The Sun Wheel. We could hear the parade and all the sounds from our balcony, but not once we closed the door. I think the Grizzly River Run view would be great, too. If you can see people walking the park, I might prefer that view, but we didn't get the chance to check it out. I definitely recommend NOT getting the courtyard view - it was nothing to look at - just the monorail.

Take advantage of your concierge - they called me in advance for reservations, and they made changes for me several times.

I wish I were you, going back!!

:wave:Thanks DisneyaHolic23 our resv's are for theme park view concierge so I am hoping for a great room. Also I am keeping our resv's mainly due to the concierge staff can make our resv's for us (and have all the little extras). For all the times we have been to DL we have -never- made dinner resv's for any of their good restaurants (only WDW) while we were there. Also would you believe we have never been to Blue Bayou!:( Also we made these resv's I think in January or February and since I have to wait that long I want to get the best service possible and a great room.:earsboy:
