I am looking for somewhere that sells GOOD frozen chicken breasts. Most of the time they are ether really gross after cooked, or fatty. I want a good one without having to go buy fresh everytime I want chicken!

Buy fresh and freeze them yourself. If you want the individual portions then put them in ziplock baggies before freezing.

JMHO, but the breast is the worst part of the chicken. But I would buy nonfrozen ones and freeze them if that is your issue.

I buy them fresh when they go on sale and then I flash freeze them before putting them in individual bags so that I can pull out, one, two or four as needed and I know the quality. I freeze them on wax paper on a cookie sheet after trimming them. I wait about 2-3 hours and then I simply put them into the baggies and label a large freezer bag that the baggies go into. I do this every 4-6 weeks and it saves money, time and makes it really easy for DH or I to make quick meals. I buy most of my meats in bulk and freeze individual servings. It works for us.

Kirkland (Costco) individually wrapped frozen skinless, boneless chicken breasts. However... be sure to put them on a plate when thawing... as sometimes the packages leak slightly.

Totally agree. Its best to buy fresh and freeze them yourself. Frozen ch.breast is the most disgusting thing in the world. I bought it once, NEVER AGAIN. The worst quality ever.

Really? i must be lucky.. I just put them right in the oven wrapped in tin foil and they come out great... I dont thaw them or anything.:confused3

If you have a GFS Marketplace near you they have excellent frozen chicken breasts. They are well portioned and cook up nicely.

I buy Costco's and also Omaha Steaks...........never a problem.

I have had better luck with buying the tenderloins, but that is expensive.

Mostly, when on sale, I buy, trim, cut into 'deck of cards' size portions, season and freeze in gallon vacuum bags. I spread the little 'decks' out in the bags so they are one layer deep and fill each bag until it is about square. Each frozen gallon bag makes approximately one grill pan full of chicken.

After cooking, I refrigerate the rest of the cooked chicken for eating during the week. DH gets two, I usually eat one.

We always buy the Tyson frozen chicken breast from BJ's. it's always delicious and we've never had a problem with them being fatty or anything (because I can't STAND that lol)

Can I ask why you don't just trim them and then put them in individual baggies to freeze. Is there something I'm missing as to why you would need to flash freeze chicken breasts then freeze them?
(I know about flash freezing, I just don't understand why you would need to do it to chicken breasts )

I think you would be fine if you use ziploc bags. I use a food saver and I find that the seems separate if there is too much moisture when you freeze them. By flash freezing the food saver 'seal' has just lasted a whole lot longer for me. May not be necessary but I find it works for me.

Also, if you didn't individually bag them but wanted to put a bunch into a gallon ziploc, you can flash freeze then put them all in the bag and they won't stick together-then you can take out 2 or 3 rather than defrost the whole thing. I do that with sausage. But most of it is habit.

I never have issues with any frozen chicken breasts I have ever boughten being fatty or gross :confused3. I most often buy Meijer's store brand frozen breasts or thighs.

We really like the Sam's Club brand mesquite grilled chicken breasts. I normally don't like the texture of frozen processed chicken breasts but these taste like regular chicken breasts.

This is the entire reason I maintain a Costco membership, LOL! Everywhere else I have purchased from, they are fatty, poorly trimmed, and terribly tough when cooked.

The Foster Farms brand that my local Costco has is not quite as good as the Perdue brand carried by Costco in the state we moved from...but they are still better than any others I have tried.

Publix brand is good, and there's another one similar to it that I used to buy at Publix. Although I usually bought the tenderloins because there were more pieces. For the life of me, I can't think of the name.

Now that I'm in Cali, Foster Farms is the norm for chicken, and I'm just not that impressed with it. I wish there were more brands to choose from.
