It look's like it's official, my family and I will be going to WDW from Dec. 20, 2003 to Jan. 2, 2004. Has any booked or know of any discounts for any of the on-site resort for this time. Being holiday season I don't plan any cheap deal's, but you never know. Thanks

There are a couple of routes you can take...the AP rates or Winter Magic Package.

If you purchase an AP, there are AP discount rates thru 12/27 (with the exception of Thanksgiving weekend, I believe). I think AS's were quoted at $49 or something like that, Mods at $89 and deluxes anywhere from $109 (Wilderness Lodge) to what I was quoted at Y/C concierge - $299 (tax inclusive on that one).

Or the Winter Magic Package which includes, of course, UPH's, the water parks and Disney Quest. I scoffed at this thinking "another inflated WDW package", but when I started to look into it, it kinda works for my family. We're staying 5-6 nights. (That first night we'll be driving in quite late, so likely we'll be staying off-site). But with the package for Sunday check in on Dec 21st thru Friday check out, our family of 5 can get POR for $1944, Y/C standard for $2385 or Y/C concierge for $2943.

With the AP rates, I would have to get an AP (which we won't use again in the next year) and then the rest of my family would get 5 day passes. But with the package, we actually get an extra day of park hopping since we have passes from all day Sunday thru all day Fri. And it includes DisneyQuest which I think my husband and son would love to do.

Of course, there is a stricter cancellation policy on the package and the deadline is next monday, the 22nd to book. If you go to the Disney website, type in "Winter Magic Package" in their search area. That was the only way I could access it.

Good luck. I'm still indecisive. Wish Disney had an "I-Want-To-Keep-All-My-Options-Open" package for those of us who try to hold out for the best possible deal with the best possible cancellation features.

Thanks so much to VickiUM! Your explaination of the AP rates versus the Winter Dream Maker Package was perfect. This is my family's first visit to WDW and the Winter DMP saved us alot of money compared to our original WDW Pkg. I have been reading all the posts about AP rates and really didn't understand how it works. Honestly didn't know weither to feel good about getting the Winter DM pkg. or not. Since we are staying at the YC concierge 12/19 - 12/25 I now know I didn't do too bad planning our first trip. Still wish I knew about DIS Board sooner. Sorry to write so much its just I have been planning this trip for 4 years and finally my dream is coming true. Thank you again and wish everyone magical dreams.

WHat if I get a APand make a ressie for the AP rate will they apply that rate to my entire stay. That would be great if they did. Thanks
