There are some restaurants I am considering for our upcoming trip. Can you provide any advice, thoughts or experiences you may have at these particular places. (Pictures are always welcome also!)

Cosmic Rays (dinner)- MK

Beirgarten (dinner)- EP

Tonys Town Square (lunch)- MK

Sunshine Seasons (Breakfast or lunch)- EP

Also ...what are your favorite resort restaurants or food courts?

Thanks in advance for any help! :goodvibes

If you email special diets they can send you a list of the GF substitute items for the parks.

Thank you.

I know that the restaurants will often do non-menu items and wondered what experiences anyone can share.

Cosmic Rays (dinner)- MK
Yes, we liked it just fine. I didn't love it, but options were good. Certain to find something there. It was pretty busy and loud when we went (even by Disney standards)

Beirgarten (dinner)- EP
One of our family favorites! We always get too much to eat. I have found that it's best to just ask for what you want. they generally walk us through buffet and say what we can eat, but if there is something you could eat with modification or a dessert other than a berry gel, just ask. I ask for brownies or cookies if they have them. I think they gave us chocolate bars last time?! LOL I have lots of Biergarten food pictures in my link (takes you to a page, click Epcot button and there are plenty of GF DF photos from there).

Tonys Town Square (lunch)- MK haven't tried it.

Sunshine Seasons (Breakfast or lunch)- EP
Yes, photos of that breakfast in my link, too. My favorite eggs on the last trip! Yummy. Worked out great, though portions were actually a little small (unusual at Disney!) And they sell Enjoylife candy bars and such if you want to grab one for later.

Tons of resort photos in my photo link, too. You can tell we love dining at the resorts! They are all pretty good. My favorites are Grand Floridian restaurants (1900 and the Grand FL Cafe), Whispering Canyon, Artist Point, Sanaa. For food courts, we liked Mara at Animal Kingdom the best and we even go there for counter service sometimes when we stay at Coronado Springs (because their counter service hasn't been great for us).

Beirgarten (dinner)- EP We love this place. Lots of yummy food to eat.

Tonys Town Square (lunch)- MK They have GF pasta and meatballs. The pasta was fine but the meatballs were awful. This was 1-1/2 years ago. We are going back in October, but I don't think DD will be getting the meatballs!

Sunshine Seasons (Breakfast or lunch)- EP Haven't tried

Also ...what are your favorite resort restaurants or food courts? Olivia's always does a nice job. Their shrimp and grits is really yummy. Our favorite place for breakfast is Boma. I want to try it for dinner one day. We love Trails End for dinner

Thanks in advance for any help! :goodvibes

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the responses!

Beirgarten looks like a winner!
We had a good experience at Tony's before and was hoping it wasn't a fluke.
Might try Columbia Harbor House. Reading good things about it. Was wondering if anyone has seen the lobster roll prepared GF??? DH would love that!

My DD loved the chicken tenders at CHH. I don't know about the lobster roll as that is not something she would eat. They have a binder with all of your choices in it. I shouild also say my DD never liked chicken nuggets or tenders until she tried the ones at Disney. She is almost 12 and doesn't really like "kid" food. She never has.

Trail's end is awesome because they cook the meat for you separately and they have GF cornbread that is to die for!

I've had the Burgers at Cosmic rays but I have stopped asking for a GF bun because they have all be horrible. I just eat it protein style.

CHH fries and tenders are awesome. I eat that every trip.
Pinnochio will make you an Udi's crust pizza.

Boma is great because the GF zebra domes have chocolate.

I didn't love the BIergarten and don't think I would return. The waitress wasn't very helpful and the Chef was gruff. Offered no alternatives to what was presented on the buffet (including dessert).

One of my favorites is Tusker House in AK. We also really like Peco Bill's in the MK.

Boma is one of my favorites in the AKL. Also really enjoyed the Cali Grille and The Wave of American Flavors in the Contemporary on the last trip, and Narcoosee's in the GF is always great. Also had a good GF meal at Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge, though I think generally it's not as good as it used to be.

Of the ones you listed, I can only comment on Sunshine Seasons post-allergy. It's very good for food allergies, best place in Epcot - go to the grill station where they have the chicken, fish & pork. They keep that section GF & they have baskets of safe snacks as well.

I have multiple allergies/issues, so I may be more limited, but my favorite places with allergies so far are: Il Mulino, Trail's End, Ohana, & Yachtsman for TS.

CS - I have to totally RAVE about Landscape of Flavors. :thumbsup2 LOVE it & I drive over often just to eat there. Also like the Mara, I run over there alot too. Had a great experience at Pepper Market, but only ate there once post-allergies. I cried over GF Beignets at Sassagoula. I didn't have the best experience at Gasparilla Grill, but to be fair, they were slammed with allergy people when I was there & I haven't been back since yet.

For the Parks: Sunshine Seasons & CHH are my favorites. I used to like Flame Tree alot before I stopped being able to digest fodmaps (but they were excellent with all my other, more standard issues.)

Oh & pre-fodmap, one of my other standard favorites was Wolfgang Puck Express - Marketplace... kids roast turkey meal - delish!

My husband has Celiac's and he loves Tony's in MK. The Chef there told him that anything he wanted could be made GF, so he had his first restaurant Chicken Parmesan and LOVED it. His favorite restaurants for GF are actually in the Swolphin though - he loves Todd English's Blue Zoo and Il Mullino.

Disney is so good with GF, especially at the table service restaurants. It is the only place we can go on vacation where he does not have to worry because he knows they are taking it seriously. The only ones he tries to avoid are the buffets because you are limited to what is there. Oh, if you are looking for a good character breakfast his favorite is Ohana. He loved everything they served him, but especially the GF waffles. And for special occasions Victoria and Albert's cannot be beat - they truly bend over backwards to make you happy with their GF options (which they should considering the prices :)

Ask for the "Local Oven" gluten-free buns at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. I had one for the first time this past May, and it was better than any GF bun they've ever offered me there. It was good enough to get again a few days later.

Robert

Thanks for all the input!

CHH is locked in...lobster roll will be a hit!
Tony's for sure!
Biergarten gets overall good reviews, so probably that.
I just booked at AofA this morning, so glad to hear that Landscape was good!
Now just need an arrival night restaurant....DTD or Resort. Was thinking Raglan Rd but I think its too much like Beirgarten, so the search continues. 181 days out!

I actually stopped eating the buns at all QS places because they are horrible. The gf bread at BOG for Lunch. is Deland bakery and delicious.

Raglan Road is awesome and nothing like Biergarten. Can you say GF fish and chips and onion rings? YUM! For us, Biergarten is sausages and sauerkraut.

Enjoy!
