DH and I and our three DDs (7,5 and 2) have decided to homeschool because our oldest has a chronic medical condition that makes regular attendance at school a problem. We've been thinking about possibly selling our home (YIKES) and Rving across the country to different points of interest for a year or two. It's something we thought we'd do when we are much older but the near future seems like as good a choice, if not a better one. I'm about to be between jobs because my boss of 16 years will be retiring soon and DH is a stay at home dad. We would have to watch our $$$ but have enough saved that we could pull it off if we're frugal. Are there any full-time RVers out there who can offer advice? TIA

While I'm not an RVer, I would love to do exactly what you are talking about. I therefore, don't have any advices, but thought I would give you the links I found looking into the topic.

There are also a couple of Yahoo Groups for rving families.

Good luck on your decision!

Please keep us posted. What a neat idea. Good Luck!

Dh and I would love to do that. We have four kids 18,16 1/2, 11/12, 14. The youngest will graduate in 6 years. Dh & I have an in home day care and work in our home. When our oldest has graduated we want to sell the house and get out on the road. My father, grandfather and 2 uncles were truck drivers. Once in while I got to travel with them and LOVED it. DH & I both love driving and do well with long distances. Have thought about the RV but also have thought about driving a truck as a team. That way we can get paid a little extra while we work and see the country. My father got to see parts of the country that he might never have seen if he would not have been a trucker. I have seen info of RV people that drive RV's and stay in the same area about 3 months. The work at walmarts as temp people to make a little extra cash. I figure if it is only the two of us we should be able to make it okay. After working in our home for so long I can't wait to get OUT!!!.
Good luck with what ever you decide. :D
