I don't know about ny but in chicago not to many parents stayed. I loved the parents that stayed and just watched or read a book. They made the job so much easier I know that as a parent I couldn't let my kids be there without me there just in case something happened. There were alot a parents that pushed there kids to hard when they stayed and would yell at them for not doing something perfect enough even some of the 3 and 4 year old parents would yell at them for not having the perfect somersault it was horrible. I think you did the right thing by taking your daughter out of cheerleading too she may like it when she is older. there are so many parents that make there kids do something they don't want to do and it is horrible I taught tumbling and swimming and it was so sad to see the kids that just didn't like being forced to do it.
