My wife and I have two cruises scheduled this year. The booking window for excursions/activities for the 2nd cruise starts while we are on the 1st cruise. Does Disney allow free access the the DCL web site? Or would that just be the normal charges for internet minutes? Thanks in advance.

I think you could access any Disney website for free - so that would include the DCL website. The challenge will be how strong a connection you get, it can be very S-L-O-W and/or spotty.
Enjoy your cruises!
Have you inquired about booking dinners/excursions while on board at customer service?

No kidding, you'd probably get better access on your phone when you're in port.
The last cruise we went on was a westbound Panama Canal repositioning in January 2011. I did buy some internet package during that cruise since I had to check on things back at work periodically (part of the deal to let me take off that much time), so I am familiar with how slow and unreliable it can be. I was hoping that for the upcoming 4-day cruise, I could skip paying for the service and access Disney sites for free. I didn't see anything about the free access on the DCL site talking about internet service.
Doesn't concierge get a free Internet package? But that's a lot of $$$$ to spend to get free Internet.
Before I posted here, I did send the question to DCL. The reply I got back basically just told me the cost for internet access, but did not address my question of free access to Disney web sites.
For sailings less than 7-nights:
$.75 per minute pay as you go
$27.50 for 50 minute plan ($.55 per minute)
$40 for 100 minute plan ($.40 per minute)
$75 for 250 minute plan ($.30 per minute)
Pricing is subject to change without notice.
i paid $55 for 100 minutes on our 8/10 EC Fantasy 7-day....if you have a concierge room internet is free...
100 minutes per cruise. "Free"

I think I read somewhere that if you are in one of the royal suites, you get unlimited internet for "free".:
) As other posters have said, the connection can be S-L-O-W and quite frustrating but it's better than nothing. Good luck!
While I cannot guarantee that it's the same fleet wide (would be nice but not always the case), sailed the Dream a few weeks ago and COULD access DCL's site for free. (Control freak me wanted to make sure the "dummy date" I reserved went through.) As other posters have said, the connection can be S-L-O-W and quite frustrating but it's better than nothing. Good luck!
