Just curious, what medication do you take?

I just got put on Lipitor. Both of my parents are on it. My cholesterol levels were on the high side. I've been taking it for about 3 weeks, and just a had a re-check of my levels, and my ' bad" cholesterol dropped quite a bit:D

I take Micronor, a birth control pill, but not for that reason. I was having six month long periods and the Micronor regulates them really well. I'm also on Lexapro for depression.

My MD thought I was going to need medication for high blood pressure, but at my last visit, I was 118/64!! Wahoo!! I knew that once I got a handle on my stress from the separation/divorce and my job, that the BP would fall. Exercise has helped too (and with the depression.)

Why do you ask?

for five months now.....and all the good the bad and the ugly cholesterol went to the right places....for that I am glad.....I am on eye meds for glucoma and now on my fourth week for blood pressure meds.....my three week check on BP showed that i needed an increase in it....so now I now on the whole pill.....

Walking pharmacy here - you just don't want to know!

I'm on birth control pills because my mother died of ovarian cancer. At 37 I wanted my tubes tied and they were going to take my ovaries too, but I wasn't ready for that. So they just keep me on BC to lower my risk of ovarian cancer. I'm also on Zoloft. Strong family history of depression.

I'm with you, Rae -- too many to count!!

I was diagnosed with HB pressure last year, and I am on 2 medications for it! Its under control now. In about 2 months, I will be having a Hysterectomy, not looking forward to that, and will probably be put on EVERYTHING than!

I'm 46 and take tricor (54mg) twice a day for my high cholesterol. I had been on Zocor but it stopped working for me. My cholesterol is finally under 200 now, and the "good" cholesterol and triglycerides are doing great.

I also take hydrochlorothiazide (25mg) for high blood pressure, but it's coming down, down down as my weight goes in the same direction. It was 111/84 a couple days ago. :teeth:

I also take synthroid (25mcg) for my thyroid (will take it for life).

I also take glucophage (500mg) for the diabetes I was diagnosed with in Sept. But that, too, may be able to be dropped as my weight goes lower and I eat better and exercise more. :teeth:

And, finally, I take coumadin as I had pulmonary embolism in both lungs in September. I will be on that 6 months to a year.

I'm hoping that, within a year, I will ONLY be taking the synthroid.
But, I am GLAD there are medications available for those of us who can benefit from them!! :)

I take Fossamax for ostreoprosis and Lo Esterin for BC..
notr much compared to some of the others..
