Any feedback on The Princess & The Frog?

I really loved the Princess and the Frog. Tiana is a wonderful role model princess for young girls. Most of the princesses are kind of hapless and rely on others to solve thier problems (the prince in most cases)- with the exception of Belle. Tiana values hard work, dreams, determination and ethics. Really good message, great story, animation, characters and music. My 4 year old DD really enjoyed it and gave it a 10

I totally agree! My 6 year old DD was bored in places and a bit scared of the Voodoo but I have to say that I really liked it. And she actually did for the most part too, it's not unusual for her to have a hard time sitting thru a movie. The music was great and the animation was just beautiful. All in all it was a nice change.

According to my DS 4, The Princess and the Frog was delightful and enjoyable.
It was a great movie and I am sure that it will become part of our DVD collection when it comes out.

My daughters (ages 2.5 and almost 6) loved it! Yes, there were some scary parts but the girls handled them fine. We have the soundtrack and they have been doing puppet shows of the movie using the songs to guide the story. My older daughter has been even making shadows with a light on the door to act out the shadow man parts. I can't believe how much they have been talking about it afterwards. I'm even thinking about taking them again in the theater (and we never go to the movies!). PLUS...they wore their Princess Tiana dresses from Santa to the movie which made it extra special.

weve now been twice(disneystore gave away kids passes for every 40$). i loved it my 2 yr old(boy) and 4yr old daughter loved it! i found it kind of intense in parts wiht the shadow man but they didnt flinch. our little guy laughed a lot during it. i got sniffley towards the end- i wont say about what!

We LOVED it! My DD4 and I have seen it twice already, and I plan on taking her one more time before it is out of theaters. We listen to the songs on youtube at least once or twice a day, and I plan on buying the soundtrack. The first time we took some of her friends (3 4 year olds and a 6 year old) and none of them were frightened.

I cannot WAIT until March for the DVD to come out!

I my DD9 and DD3 and they both really enjoyed this movie! My 3 year old was riveted, did not move the entire length of the film. That says a lot! I wanted her to see it before we went to Disney, now she asks to watch clips from the Disney website all the time!! I ADORED the music, and was very excited to see it was written by Randy Newman, one of my faves.

I highly recommend it to anyone!!

We took our DS (4) and DD (2) to see it and they both loved it. They weren't scared at all. The voodoo scene everyone is talking about wasn't any worse than other villian scenes in other Disney movies. Our DD fell asleep 10 minutes before we arrived at the movie theater since she hadn't had a nap. We woke her when the movie started and she stayed awake mesmerized throughout the entire movie.

I LOVED the music. I thought it was perfect and a great representation of true New Orleans music. As far as the voodoo, that's also New Orleans history and very interesting really.

I was really excited to see the movie after seeing Tiana's Showboat Jubilee at the Magic Kingdom. After hearing the cast perform the musical numbers on the riverboat, I thought the music was really catchy, jazzy, and memorable. When I saw the movie, the music seemed less impressive and like something was missing. I can't quite put my finger on what was missing. Did anyone else experience this? Maybe it's because the songs are performed more by individuals in the movie and not by a huge chorus? I assumed Disney was using the same soundtrack recording for the MK show, but it seemed very different. Maybe I am crazy. I did like the movie a lot. You guys must have really brave kids. I thought the creepy shadow things in the cemetery and the death were a little over the top for preschoolers.

My dd bought the soundtrack at Walmart for $13.88.

We (Me, DD19, DD11 and DD2) saw it yesterday for my birthday. We all loved it, although I thought some of the "voodoo" scenes would be a bit scary for some kids.

My Dd is 2.5. Did your daughter find it scary? My DD is a little on the fragile side so I'm wondering if she is going to freak out and want to leave. My intentions are good and I would love to go and have a mother/daughter date on Sunday afternoon. It would be her first time at the movie theatre.

My daughter is 'fragile' too. She is 4 and she yelled out for me to stop the Pocahontas DVD the other day- she couldn't stand to see Kokoum get hurt. Anyway, she was fine with the Princess and the Frog. Its really not any scarier than Sleeping Beauty or Snow White.

My girls are almost 4 and almost 15 and both can't wait to see it again.

I did enjoy the movie but to me it didn't live up to what I expect after shows like The Little Mermaid, Lion King or Beauty and the Beast. I found the music only so-so while my girls are asking for the soundtrack.

There were other little ones in the movie theater when we went and I didn't notice any that seemed unusually scared or upset. All seemed to enjoy it.

We made seeing the movie an event here. We had Shrimp Po'Boys for lunch and Jambalya for dinner and decorated with Mardi Gras decorations. It was a fun day.

The movie was good but I wouldn't rank it is one of Disney's best.

No, my dd2 sat glued to the screen the whole time. She does love to watch movies at home and I didnt know how she would do at the theater, but she loved it. Since she has just turned 2, I dont think she fully understands scary parts quite that much. I havent had any problems with her being scared of anything since the movie, so I guess it didnt fase her. I wouldnt consider her fragile, though. Hopefully you and your dd can go and she will enjoy it just as much.

I thought it was a great movie and DDs (7,5) enjoyed it as well. Youngest was a little scared during the "shadow creatures", but that was it. And, as a dad of daughters, I was glad to see a Disney princess movie where the female is not limited to housework and does not have to wait to be rescued.

Oh good. I'm glad to hear from someone who has taken their really little ones. I guess I'll hype up the movie and the fact that we are going. You're right, she is not going to understand the scary stuff so I think we might give it a try. Thanks for sharing.

We loved it! 5 year old DS loved Louis the alligator and 3 year old DD was just in heaven - she's been totally into the princesses since our trip last May and Tiana is her new love. DD is Ethiopian and I'm thrilled that she has a princess of color now in her growing collection of princess paraphanelia - and one who didn't sit around waiting to get rescued to boot! Ok, maybe Tiana is my new love too.

As far as scariness, my DS still makes us fast forward through the sharks and anglerfish on Nemo but the shadows, etc. didn't bother him at all.

Thanks again for all the feedback. I can conclude that most everyone liked or loved it and that the main concern about the 'scary' factor is shared mostly by the parents and they kids weren't too phased by it. Thanks again!
