Going the end of the month with friends who are ESPN employees and they can walk us in to all of the parks with their work I.D.'s. Great hookup but can't use Fastpass+. In your experience is there any Fastpass times available for guests who don't have a chance to book them in advance? Thanks for any info

Most attractions will be available day-of. A very small few will not.

Yes, day-of there will be FPs available.

Wow! Thanks for the quick answers. Been nervous that we'd be stuck in line the whole time.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but it doesn't sound like you'll have any ticket media if your friends are walking you into the parks based on their ID's? If that's the case, I'm not sure how you'll be able to get any FP"s at the kiosks that day if you don't have ticket media (band or card).

I don't know of anyone, short of on-duty CMs and Disney brass, that gets in without some form of valid ticket media.

That's my understanding as well, but this was the part of OP's post that caught my attention:

I'm pretty sure you have to have ticket media to use the FP Kiosks.

I think there is a misunderstanding somewhere. Perhaps the OP can clarify if they know exactly how they are gaining admission, but I am making an educated guess that they are likely not getting in because some ESPN employee friends have IDs. If they had that kind of pull, then they can probably book FPs in advance too.

My friends who work for ESPN said that with their I.D.'s they can each bring 3 people into the park. I'm sorry but I'm not sure if they're having to do anything else To get us in. I figured that when we walk in that our MB's would somehow be linked up with the media for that day. Was just concerned that there would be no Fastpass left for the day for some of the bigger rides. No need for Anna & Elsa or 7D this trip.

Most CMs CAN get FP+ in advance, might be 7 days (without a resort reservation). Tell your ESPN friend to look into it (do they have Hub access?)

I am certainly no expert and I am new to the FP+ Process, but this is what I have learned.
It sounds like you will be using your friends Gate Passes. Which is the pass where they need to come with you and can get 3 people in a number of times each year. They can actually get FP+ reservations 7 days before the day you are going. The FP will be assigned to the actual pass and not you. Of course they can also get the FP after you enter the park. Just in case your friend does not have a lot of experience with this process they need to make sure your targeted park is not blocked out on the day you want to go. MK is blocked out a lot during busy times. HS is blocked out for Star Wars week, etc.

And your friend HAS to stay with you in the parks, since you are not a close immediate family member. He is not allowed to get you in, and leave you there. You will use an RFID card for your FP+, not a Magic Band. And he has to collect those passes back from you, at the end of the day.

Have fun.

Thanks! That makes sense. We'll all be together the whole time so shouldn't be a problem. I just spoke with them and they said that MK was blocked out the days we're there which is the first weekend in May but that they got paper tickets to cover those days. They get 3 each quarter of the paper tickets for friends and family. They're super busy folks and the hookup is so huge that I don't really want to also ask them to figure out Fastpass. I'm the dis freak on this trip. I did have them open accounts at MDE and just today sent them an invitation to be friends. This will be my first time using the kiosk but thought that might let one of us book Fastpass for the whole group? Thanks for all the responses!
