... And if so what's the best form of accommodation price wise?

Two rooms seems very expensive and not ideal if interconnecting rooms can't be guaranteed!

Family suites at AoA aren't worth the money from what I can see as its cheaper to do 2xMod if you can get free DDP. We also technically have three adults if we have a 10 y/o, right?

Am I missing something?

Help me make this cheaper for Sept/Oct next year so we can go back, I've only been home a week and I'm getting serious withdrawal already :rotfl2:

Thanks :)

i wonder if they're offering OKW at a discount again..
if so, perhaps a 2 bedroom would work out with free dining?

otherwise, maybe a villa?

I'd go for a villa, when we went in 2005 there was 5 of us and we worked it out to be cheaper to stay in a villa and cater ourselves. We are going next year and there's 2 families so it works out a lot cheaper for us to share a villa

Good luck in what ever you decide :thumbsup2

Pass few year there have been 6 of us going. We booked OKW 2 bedroom allowing us to get free DDP for 10 nights then used our DVC points for remainder of holiday. We stayed in 2 studios at BWV but have vowed not to go back to a studio again due to lack of space and facilities. Hoping to do this again for next year,

I had wondered about OKW - there was a big discount last year. Heard rumours it may be Saratoga next year, so if anyone knows anything... ;)

Villa we considered but not sure about an off site location and having to factor in food as DDP was worth about £1,000 to us last trip (we like to eat out... A lot!), then parking charges of $15 per day and car hire (SUV looked to be another £500!!) which means for the inconvenience of off site we might not save as much. I'm happy to be persuaded if I am being overly negative though?!

Thanks all :)

I would definitely recommend the DDP and OKW 2 bedroom. I never though I would ave said this as I stayed at OKW before and hated it but that was studio but now love this resort.

I was looking at 3 weeks next year in a 2 bed villa in OKW until I seen the price. For us I'm going to stick with an off site villa for the price I got quoted from disney for room, tickets, dining I would get flights 5 weeks in a villa and car hire left with over €2000 for disney tickets and dining off site when I add the price of the flights in it would be €5500-€6000 food and tickets that's for 4 adults 2 children aged 2.

We are going May next year there doesn't appear to be any 2 bed villas available on site so the closest I could get is a family suite at AoA for 2 weeks £3435.00 accommodation only.

Even though we would "fit" in this type of accommodation it isn't our ideal. We would like a kitchen. Anyhow

Car - £420 which we have got anyway.
Parking £210 ( if we go every day which we won't)
4 bed villa with pool - 1150.00

Total £1780.00

That leaves me £1655.00 for food before i even hit the accommodation price for onsite disney. I am budgeting £100.00 a day so that covers it. We don't eat out every night I have pretty well behaved kids but they are kids and sometime they want a bowl of pasta after a swim, not a wait in a restaurant.

Personally that is a lot of extra money for atmosphere.

I realise that atmosphere is very important to people but too me it isn't worth that much extra.

Now if I could afford a two bed, bay lake towers I would be there but not going to happen unless I win big in he lotto so in order to be able to afford to go back sooner than later I will take my offsite visit.

Also the parking will be cheaper as I worked it out at £15.00 per day which it isn't its $15.00. I used my brain for adding up so it is likely to be a bit out as well I would think lol.

That's incredibly helpful and you are definitely right on those prices! I guess we would need a 3 bed villa which hikes the price up but I know someone who could let us their 4 bed villa for about the same price as you're paying.

Flights alone I guess will be 500pp+ which is a huge chunk in itself...

I am glad you found it helpful.

The one we have hired is a 4 bed, we could have fit in a three bed which are cheaper but the ones I was looking at at Windsor hills had the master suite on the ground floor and our daughter has additional needs so we need to be on the same floor as her so we went for a 4 bed on one level.

We are flying into Miami because I could get the flights we wanted part air points cashed in a pile of tesco vouchers and the other three flights as miles plus money. Flights for the 5 of us came in at £2100.00

Kirsten.

We booked our flights last night so thought I might give you an update on our pricing :)

22 nights in a 4 bed villa £1400 - just asked on here and found someone and they gave me a discount 'cause I said I'd heard about them on the DIS :)

flights with flythomascook for £3500

car rental £500 for a SUV for 23 days

£200 ish for 21 days parking

£1200 ish for 21 WDW tickets

= £6,800 + food

It's going to be a little cheaper for us as we are sharing the villa with another family

Again if you want the Magic of staying in a hotel then go for it, but we found it was just as fun driving up to the front door,

Good luck :grouphug: Oh and it's for August 2014 :)

We have booked for SSR with 35% discount for next yr with free dining, there is 6 of us :)

We find it perfect we love SSR we actually thought we would hate it as its not our usual decor but we couldn't wait to go back again!

Hi when did you book for may?
We booked 2 weeks ago for may 18 nights in a 2 bed at SSR!
Odd how there isn't any available now, we could have our pick of dates too,

We are booking with complete orlando and we have booked a two bed okw villa :-)

Odd how there isn't any available now, we could have our pick of dates too,

18 May to 2nd June.

That was through the Disney site no availability, through Virgin holidays I can get SSR, but for £6367 with free dining.

Which is way way worse for the numbers than the AOA was.

However it is like for like for what we would need.

even with 35% off that price (which I am assuming isn't there already given the price of it) so that would bring it down to about 4100.00, WITH the free dining included.

Still more expensive they what we are paying.

I would like to think I am doing something wrong with my figures but unless I want to spend 2 weeks in one room with my family, which we do not, nothing at Disney compares with what we are getting at a lower price?????

Kirsten

We found ocean florida were very competitive. It's worth a call and they were friendly.

Hi guys

Where is the 35% offer? Through WDTC they want £5,000 for a 2 bed villa at either SSR or OKW which seems very expensive for the time of year (mid Sept, 14 nights).

Good for free dining though.

A family suite at AoA shows as £2,200 with 3% cash back, which would leave us loads of cash for food...

Off site villa is £1,000 plus £500 car rental.

I couldn't find the 35% off either I was just doing it for comparison, and unfortunately any way I do it, I am still better off money wise, and more comfortable offsite in the villa.
