Any "extra magic" suggestions?

Hi, I'm new on here, but not new to Disney. We'll be staying in the cabins at the Fort for the first time at the end of April (4/28-5/5). I'm racking my brain trying to come up with some cute, inexpensive ways to add to the magic for my little ones. I have a 3 1/2 year old girl and a 19 month old boy. All I can come up with at this point is maybe trying to make "chip and dale footprints" around the cabin. I honestly don't even know what a chipmunk paw print looks like. lol

Any ideas or suggestions?

On our last visit, in October, my daughter loved riding the ponies at tri-circle ranch and of course doing the Hoop. We're definitely excited to do the campfire with Chip and Dale this time!

Susie,

Have fun with your little ones. Seems like mine were that young just yesterday. Now they're in college!

You mentioned having done the pony rides but did you walk back to the horse barn and look at the horses that are resting in their stalls?

I've seen kids pick up pine cones and arrange them in a Mickey head/ears on the ground at their campsite.

Take a piece of bread or two over by the pool or bike barn and tear it up and toss pieces to feed the fish. Hopefully you can get a few to come up to the surface to investigate the bread crumbs.

You went in October last time so I don't know if it would have been warm enough enjoy the kiddie splash zone at the pool (late April or early May might be a little warmer) but it seems to get a lot of action.

Hi Susie,

Ed brings up some good things to do. There are some playground equipment areas as well, my favorite being between Trail's End and the beach. My kids love it. There are lots of wildlife spotting opportunities around the Fort, turkeys are very frequent around the stables that Ed mentioned.

Feeding squirrels is probably one of my favorites, and my kids start naming them. They can get pretty close and get entertaining to watch, especially when there are several of them.

The outdoor movies are good experiences and the pools should be okay during your visit timeframe

We did get to look at the horses - we even got to see Merida's horse, Angus get a bath! It made my daughter's day! We will have to do that again. :)

Feeding the fish and squirrels sounds like fun! I'm sure they will both love that! And my kiddos are always up for getting wet - puddle or pool - they don't care!

These are all great suggestions, thank you!

Does your little girl like tink? My dd adores fairies and says she still believes in them even though she is 6 now. For our next trip I am buying some stuff ahead of time instead of waiting til we get there, for example the autograph books for my two girls, I ordered them online when Disney had free shipping going. I am going to wrap them in green tissue paper and leave them in our camper for the girls to find the next morning along with a note from tink welcoming them to the Fort. I plan to use Barbie shoes and make some fairy footprints with gold glitter.

another suggestion I have is if your DD has a favorite princess you can have her make a picture to give to that princess at a meet and a greet. She'll get a little extra attention from that princess during the M&G and I've heard that the princesses actually keep those little mementos. My dd is really excited about meeting Elsa and is going to draw a picture of an ice castle to give to her.

I'm ordering a Disney Florist delivery for the room, doing personal invites from the characters to DD for my character meals, we have a set of matching t shirts and I made DD a bunch of "coupons"... One for a shirt, an ice cream, a pearl (at pick a pearl), etc.

There's a lot you can do with creativity... A trail of sparkle makeup from "Tink", a couple apples left in the room from Snow White, personalized letters to your kids, id search Pinterest, pick the fave character and search birthday parties themed to that character... You'd be surprised at what's out there!

Oh my gosh, great ideas! Thank you!! Coupons - brilliant. And I love the idea of princesses and Tink leaving something overnight. It's like Elf on the Shelf - Disney Style. :) Anything to keep the magic and wonder alive!

When my kids were that little, I went before our trip to the Disney store, Target, or wherever had Disney stuff for cheaper and got them a little present for each day of the trip. The Cars movie was really big back then, and my son STILL talks about getting his blue McQueen and carrying it around the park when he was about your son's age. It also cut down on the asking for everything, because they got a PRESENT each day, even if it was a $5 Mickey or whatever. So much fun! Now they are older and jaded and have to bring their allowances, haha. So enjoy.:tinker:

We buy inexpensive trinkets with Disney characters in then at dollar tree prior to the trip. As they are sleeping we set one out per child for the next day. It gives them some added magic as well as something to occupy then in line. If it gets lost it was not expensive so not a big deal. I also lay out new pjs after the kids are headed out for the day.
Another few hints... Bring glow sticks and pack snacks in Disney ziplock bags.
