I am having such a HORRIBLE time with those darn box elder bugs. (ya know, the dark brownish ones with the orange stripe)
This is the first year that we have them in the house year long. We usually see these bugs during the warmer months but NEVER inside the house during the fall/winter. But it is horrible this year. We cannot get rid of these things. I mean, I don't mind a couple here or there, but they are EVERYWHERE!!! I vacuumed up atleast 30 from my living room floor alone, the other day. My hubbys says that we have a couple of box elder trees on the side of the house and that this is where they're coming from. (I also heard that they come from maple trees as well) Which we do have 1 or 2 I believe in the front of the house.
My MIL just added on an addition to our house last summer and she is at her wits end with these things to the point that she's telling us that she's having the tree removal service come this spring/summer to remove the box elder trees, having an exterminator come and spray, etc.
So my question for you exterminators out there, will cutting the trees down and spraying really help get rid of these stupid bugs?
