Hi,
I am completely new to new this and have been reading this board for days but I still have some questions and hoping some will help.

1. I noticed the stay 4 and play for free offer - I registered for the Loew's card (blue) - so, if I book this, water view king @ RPH does that mean I have a chance for a club level room for my free upgrade?

If so, what do you think my chances are for 9/12 - 9/16?

2. Is 4 days enough to see and do everything if we want to swim and nap in the afternoon? (It will be just DH and I - 2 middle age kids who like ALL rides)

3. Do you think this is a good deal:

EXTRA VALUE WKS 4NTS includes
$150 Hotel Savings Guide,2 AMC movie tickets,$10 AMC gift card, 2 free tickets to USF/IOA
Room Type: WATER VIEW KING BED 335 Sq Ft
Relaxing Tropical Room overlooking Pool or Waterway Sleeps up to 3
Avg Nightly Rate: 244.00 (per room)
Total Cost w/o Taxes: 976.00 (per room) Taxes:
Resort Tax : 6.50 percent per room per night
County Tax : 6.00 percent per room per night

Total Cost Including Taxes: 1098.00 (per room)
Currency: US Dollars

4. How long do you think I can wait to book this while it is still available. I know ASAP would be best but do you think I could wait a couple of weeks? (have to make sure I can rearrange WDW stay to accomodate the extra days)

5. Is there a boat or bus to Citywalk at night?

Thank you so much and I really appreciate anyone taking the time to answer my questions.

Have a great day!
Kelley

I will try and answer some, but others have more experience of Loews than myself.
1] They ,as far as i am aware do not give upgrades to Club Level, or very rarely. And if you book package which i think the stay 4 play for free comes under, the stay does not count as a stay on your Loews first , so no upgrade available or room gift.
Someone will clarify this.

2] Yep 4 days should be enough.

3]Seems ok, but as there are 4 of you ,they will not allow 4 in a King room, you will need double queen.

4] Have you considered other options, booking under the supersaver rate or AAA rate, and buying the $86 7 day tickets. might be worth pricing.

5] There is a boat from RPR to Citywalk, but it only takes about 7 mins to walk it.

Thanks so much Robert!
There are only 2 of us DH and myself ARE the kids - lol.

I am on my way to go price that out now.

I'm no expert by any means, but I'm booking another stay in July at the PBH and I found it better to go by the Super saver rate. I'm going for 5 nights and the Super saver rate was cheaper than the AAA rate. I find those special deals like you're talking about above aren't really that good of a deal, IMO.

I did a room only reservation and buying my tickets on line. This way I get my free LF gift and my visit counts as stay, so more points are earned toward a future upgrade.

I'm going to buy the $ 86/7 day ticket on line and found it to be a great deal last year when we went. I was there for only two days last year and found myself wishing I stayed there longer. This year we're doing just that.

Do Not Book!
1) Loews First benefits do not apply if you book the pkg. You are booking a third party package and will not receive upgrade or gift. Never expect a free upgrade to club, however it can sometimes happen
2) Yes especially with fotl you will be able to pace yourself
3) RPR room rate at the same time is 171/night for a total of 684 + taxes
7 day tickets are 85.99 each; you would be paying $156 for coupon book movie tickets and $10 gift card - not a good deal!
4)reserve the supersaver rate now, you can always cancel at no cost do not book pkg.
5)transportation is available well after CW closes

Sorry Disneysnel, misread your post, If you stay an extra night rate goes down to $161 +tax for super savings

Thanks so much guys!

I am so glad I posted - I did not even know about the super saver rates! Now I am considering PBH - it looks so nice!:lovestruc
With the super saver rates it looks like it would be about the same as I would have paid for the package! Thanks Eddie!

So, another question - If I book the standard basic 2 queens room (lowest price) do I have a chance of getting the king room as an upgrade? Or does it only go in same category ie: 2 queens standard up to 2 queens waterview?

I would call direct, and ask if you could have a king room as there is only the 2 OF YOU :confused3 , if any are available i do not see any problems.
PBH is really nice as is the Villa Pool.
We stayed here last year for a few days, but RPR is our favourite , but would stay in any of them.

4 nights at PBH $215 =tax
or 5 nights at $202 +tax

Staying onsite at Universal makes doing the parks a joy and not an endurance compared to Disney, and i could not afford to stay at a luxury resort on Disney property. We stayed at a moderate resort at Disney our first time in Florida , but for about the same price i can stay at a Universal resort and if my DD wants to go to Disney we just drive down.

Thanks Damo that thread was very helpful!
Thanks to all of you!
We are officially staying @ PBH with the super saver rate! I am so excited!

I can't wait!!

I would like to know where you find the super saver rate as I do not see it on Universal's site. I do belong to AAA but am confused as to where to find the super saver rate.:confused3

When booking a room online, the various rates that are available show up, you do not need codes to see supersaver but entering a code is necessary to see ap rates. If you do not see supersaver, it is not available for the time you are going at the time you are checking. Keep checking and one day they may show up. I always find it fastest to check AAA rates through AAA.

You need to be booking at least 3 nights for the supersaver rate to come up online.

:thumbsup2 Thanks so much for your help. I have a room booked which includes the 2 free tickets and the $150 coupon book for RPH. We are staying 4 nights. No supersaver rates popped up but I thought getting 2 free tickets was a good thing. I did go to AAA site and tried for their rates and they were right about the same and you didn't get the tickets free.
