Any experiences with the Relief Band 2.0 for motion sickness?

I usually use Dramamine, but currently have a prescription for the patch that I was considering using for our upcoming trip.

However, my wife came across the Relief Band. It sounds too good to be true. Does anyone have any experiences with it?

If I could avoid the motion sickness, without having any of the medication side effects?! That would be amazing.

Thanks!

It works by placebo effect.

The best non-prescription remedy I've ever found is eating ginger chews. They work much better than Dramamine without side effects. If that doesn't work for you, the scopolamine patch is your best bet.

I have used Sea Bands in the past, which I think operate on the same principle. You basically place them on the pressure point in your wrist that controls nausea. I wore them to bed every night when I was pregnant in hopes of avoiding morning sickness. I used to wake up slightly nauseous, but it was never terrible. I can't say whether the Sea Bands worked, but I like to think they did! I've also worn them on cruises and flights. I still prefer a motion sickness medication as I've always had good luck with that. I look for the kind that contain meclizine. I've never had any bad side effects from that, besides a little drowsiness.

My sister-in-law, and mother both swear by them. I think it's all the power of the mind, they wanna believe they are working, so they do, (who am I to say for sure). It obviously works for them, so it may not hurt to try, if you believe they are working, perhaps they are. :)

Bonine. I can get seasick in the bathtub or a swimming pool, no joke. I think Bonine works much better than Dramamine. Sea Bands and ginger? Nope, don't do a thing for me. I have used the scopolamine patch for riding FoP, but that didn't work- so I'm thinking I'm never gonna get to ride FoP with my eyes open!

FoP is the only ride my scop patch doesn't work for too.

I work on a boat and deal with seasick people pretty much daily. The bands are absolutely placebo (and if you think they work for you, great! Keep using them if they keep you from getting sick!). Don’t chance your brain power over actual medication. Over the counter drugs work if taken at least an hour before (and I recommend the night before also). The Rx patch is what I recommend for people that are really prone. Stick with the medicine. Seriously.

I appreciate all the opinions.

But I’m looking for people that have actually tried this product.

I have the patch. I’m more than willing to use it.

I’ve also ordered this band. I’m willing to give it a try since it has a 30 day money back guarantee. If it doesn’t work for me, I’ll send it back and report my experience here. I won’t test it out in the parks as that’s too risky.

I have zero affiliation with this company. I don’t have high hopes but it’s worth a shot for me to try.

I tried the bands...thought I was going to die on Forbidden journey lol. No dice

I've been registered here for years but usually just read and never post. But I had to respond to you. I have the reliefband and it works! I get the worst motion sickness ever and this has been the only thing that works for me.

I was able to take a cruise using it. I used it on vacation when we had to ride buses and trains. I was even able to read a book while riding in a car which I've never been able to do before.

I think most people responding think it's just a strap, like a seaband. It looks more like a watch and it sends a pulse to your wrist. It feels like a zap and if you crank it up really high, it can hurt a little but you get used to it and it's worth it.

I was told that the reliefband was sold by prescription for morning sickness and chemo patients so there must be some medical belief that it works. I know it works for me so I hope it does for you too!

Thanks for the info! Ya, I’m not super optimistic, but I’ll try it.
just to clarify, did you try the sea bands or the Relief Band 2.0 device?

Thank you for the first hand info!

I'm fully aware it doesn't work for everyone, but I'm willing to try! I will test it out with a car ride while trying to read.

I will still most likely use the patch while at Disney (as I don't want to take any chances with ruining a whole day / having to make sure the band has gel under it / doesn't run out of battery). But if it does work for me, it would be nice for car rides / plane rides. I'm very happy to hear it works for you!

Sea band
Motion-eaze (it's an oil?)
ginger pills
ginger gum

None of it worked. The patch works. I just stick a round band aid over it to make sure I don't accidentally touch and I'm good to go.

The patch works
I have the patch, but have not used it yet. Do you have any side effects? If so, what? Also, do you feel any side effects after removing it? Also, can you have an alcoholic drink with it? My doctor said OK to alcohol (but not to go overboard), but looking for first hand info. It would be one drink, at most, with a meal.

Sorry for all the questions!
